I'm planning on hitting Cleveland and probably Windsor. Chicago would be cool but ticket prices are a bit steep (although they are totally in line with nearly any current band of the Hip's caliber).
This is a really cool development in my opinion. FC is a very good live album to haul out and tour for. Many bands have done the album tour and it's great that the Hip are doing it too. FC is arguably the Hip's prime album as they were really taking off in Canada at that point. The leap from clubs and smaller theaters to headlining festivals and arenas.
I must say.......I don't get the crying on here about prices, potential setlists....etc. The band can't possibly please everyone. These will be my 22nd and 23rd Hip shows (I think), I've seen Greatest Hits tours, deep album cut tours, arenas and small clubs. Not once have I been disappointed.....other than other intangibles (stupid people in the crowd).
Yes, there are some recent complaints (myself included) about GD's voice, stagnant setlists..etc. But they are more CONCERNS than complaints!
In the live venue, the music is loud as heck, the band is rockin' and there's not much focus on whether GD sings the songs just like the album. When we go back and listen to the concert afterward, it is then when we dissect all the above... Most fans DON'T do that.
We are diehard Hip fans who know the band/music/shows inside and out. Our expectation should be a very entertaining musical experience.
The Wherewithal, We'll Go Too, Pigeon Camera.... bring it on!
