Seeing them Oct. 20 in Edmonton. Talked friends who live in STL into going to the show at the Firebird. Can't wait to see them again.

I know I've been harping on them a lot. But if you get a chance to see them live on this tour, do it. The music is urgent and watching Paul Banwatt on the drums is worth the price of admission. I've seen them twice now, both in 2012. Once opening for The Hip in Niagara-on-the-Lake and once opening for Dan Mangan in Edmonton. Can't wait for the Starlite Room in October.

Are you going to the early show or the late show? We're at the early one.
This'll be my third time seeing them. Saw them open for The Hip in NOTL in 2012 and for Dan Mangan in Edmonton later that same year. Loved their show both times.

Saw them last night in Calgary with July Talk. What a show, the musicianship and energy were fantastic ( I think they were pleased with their turnout for Alberta shows)
July Talk was great as well, I don't think they will be openers for very much longer, they get better every time I see them.

I was at the early Starlite Room show too and was amused to end up right next to Nils's family. He gave a shout out to his mom at one point and she cried during the next song - it was pretty sweet. They played a good set and I feel like I should have enjoyed myself more, but I just couldn't get into it for whatever reason. The sound wasn't super great, I was tired, I hate the Starlite, and the last time I saw them was probably in my top-5 shows of all time so I guess this one had a lot to measure up to. Anyway, still a good show, I just didn't connect with it as much as I'd have liked.
As usual, watching Paul was a highlight. I love his enthusiasm and the faces he makes - makes me think of a human Animal from the Muppets.
Apparently they were planning to film a low-budget video in Vulcan today, so we'll see what comes of that.

I had only been to the larger venues in Edmonton before -- Rexall, Jube, Winspear. I didn't love Starlite. And the sound wasn't great. But I really enjoyed the show. I thought RAA's set was great. Hearing everyone sing along was tons of fun.
