I picked up the guitar because of The Hip...my friends all played and I got sick of just watching them have all the fun so off I went and now, on any given drunken night, or open mic, we will pull out any combination of the following:
NOIS- good jammin beat
Fiddler's
Wheat Kings
Bobcaygeon
Dire Wolf
IAGLIYDW
The Darkest One
Get Back Again
Emperor Penguin
Boots
Nautical
Pigeon Camera
Opiated
Ahead by a Century
Scared
Long time Running
Just writing this list....I can't wait until camping season kicks into high gear. Something about the outdoors, beer in cans and acoustic Hip that is just so "right"

I worked in Scotland from October '03 to March '05. One day I performed Chancellor by Mr. Downie, at a place called Mad Hatter's on Church Street in Inverness. I got a few claps after all was over, and I couldn't resist pointing out my "grooveless toque." Meh, they don't know!

I'm a camp counselor for troubled youth, and nothing gets them to calm down more around the fire than a good round of ABAC, or Fiddler's Green.
They also like Wheat Kings, because a lot of them feel as if they were falsely accused/lead in their lives....the song really speaks to them.

I did lead vocals for Blow at High Dough for a bar band I kind of know last night. It was awful. I was a little drunk, and it was new to thier setlist, so everybody forgot how the song went and singing/playing different parts of the song at the different times. The song went something like this:
Intro
First Verse

I play in a band in Belleville and we've played the following hip tunes in our set:
Highway Girl
Blow at high dough
NOIS
Ahead by a Century
Poets
I'll believe in you
100th Meridian
Weight comes down
38 Yrs Old
Wheat Kings
Three Pistols
Little Bones
Fiddler's Green
Nautical Disaster
In a 3 set evening where approx 36 or so tunes get played I'd say we'd do about 10 Hip songs and people request them all the time. Gotta love the hip!!!!
