One week when I was playing guitar in my church's band, we opened up with a jam based on NOIS. Other than that, no. Maybe I can find the thread where I posted it...

Are you playing Ahead by a Century in standard tuning or in open C? The second way is harder but sounds more like the recording. Neither are very tough to nail with a little practice, though.

I'm playing in standard tuning (i think you need a capo for open C and i lost mine)

We had an open jam night at the bar I work at last week. I pulled out Get Back Again and it was pretty successful. I had a bunch of people come up and ask me who originally played it and when I told them they were floored.

Talent show coming up; some friends and I plan on planning a two song hip set. I think as of now its gonna look something like this:
Meridian
Escape

Wheat Kings is a campfire staple of mine... I've also performed Fireworks, Three Pistols, and Fiddler's Green...

All purely acoustic...

I'm thinking of busting out Northern Wind at some point, as I'm in love with that song...

I did that in grade 8...haha. reading that post brought back some memories. we didn't win the talent show but if my memory serves me correctly we rocked the the fuckin' house.

I usually bust into Gord-ish rant of "Bobcaygeon" or "The Dark Canuck" while my band is jamming/performing. Actualy covers? We're working on it.

While doing an acoustic solo set, my choice of Hip cover that I play on a more regular basis is Oh Honey

I have also played Thompson Girl, and when I was younger, Fiddler's Green, since it was the first song I have ever learned in it's entirity. So I had no choice but to play it.


I once had a band that included a Horn section, a rhodes keyboard player and a standup bassist, and we played "Don't Wake Daddy".

I wish I had it recorded. It was brilliant.

I find that the later in the hip's career, the more difficult a song is to pull off.

i butchered "its a good life" (or rather, a fingerpicked acoustic version), looking back, it was pretty good, but i couldnt stand it at the time. im pretty sure Gord sinclair's son was in the audience too

Well, I'm not in a Hip cover band, and projects for me are on and off frequently, but should there be another cover in the future I shall try to pass it along.
