That's the best you've got? Man, even A-Rod could do better than that. Actually, no he couldn't.

Yup, A-rod sure came through in the clutch, eh? Nice ground-out double play in the 9th, Alex! Thanks for coming out! :thumb:

And all it cost the Yankees for that kick-ass production (.133, 0 RBIs) was a paltry $25,705,118.

you seem to forget that he hit .321, set an ALL TIME FRANCHISE RECORD FOR HR's BY A RIGHT HANDER, AND LED THE TEAM IN RBI's...

but, i conceded, he didn't do shit in the playoffs, and that was pretty much the difference in the series...

btw...why not mention that Captain Clutch did come through in the clutch, driving in the game winner last night, hitting a hr tonight, and hitting a single to lead off the ninth...?

Captain Clutch is Mats Sundin, thank you very much.

Quote of the year: "I had a great year, something I'm very proud of," A-Rod said. "I left my guts on the field, I left my heart out there. I'm not going to hang my head. I'm going to learn from it and become a better Yankee."

Atta boy A-Rod! You go and be proud of yet another choke job when the pressure is on.

Sundin is Captain Crappy Leaf

ore maybe from now on: "The One Eyed Monster" lol!

if anybody anywhere in pro sports knows anything about choking it's Sundin and those shitty leafs of his...the sad thing is they might not even get the chance to be eliminated from the playoffs by Philly this year Tongue!

It has to be. Confusedcratch:

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

Yeah, it's a "joke".

....Ranked first in the NHL in game winning goals (10), second in third period points (36)......Ranks first in career regular season NHL overtime goals (13-tie) and has scored the most overtime goals (12) in a Maple Leafs uniform...Has scored more game winning goals (33) than any other NHL player since the start of the 2000-01 season

Do you guys have a better definition of clutch? Because if you do, I'd LOVE to hear it.

Face it. If Mats Sundin was from Kingston we'd never hear the end of how great he is. But because he doesn't kiss Don Cherry's ass or apologize for being from Sweden, he doesn't get his due respect. The numbers don't lie. A-Rod he ain't.

Good call, cfern. Quite frankly, Sundin has done everything he possibly could to lead the Leafs to playoff glory. It's not his fault his teams have been saddled with below-average (and worse) defensemen... not to mention some of the bizarre choices for wingers on his lines (Hoglund? Antropov and Ponika-whatever? HELLO???). There's only so much one guy can overcome. It's also unfortunate that some people in Toronto who are supposedly Leaf fans have never gotten over the fact that a Swede has been the captain for the Leafs for so long. Face it people, Sundin is the man! :thumb:

Sundin is, quite simply, the best Leaf ever. His only problem is that he isn't a good ole Canadian boy that Cherry fan verbally fellate every Saturday night like he used to do with Dougie and Wendel. It's too bad, because I think that most Leaf fans won't realize how much he has meant to this franchise until he is gone. It's hilarious to me that he never gets the credit he deserves. When CuBlow was a Leaf I was under the impression he'd parted the seas, cured cancer, and won 12 Cups rather than his annual choke job in the playoffs (which was never his fault, of course).

Man, I shudder when I think of some of the wingers Mats has been saddled with. Remember Jeff Farkas? Lonny Bohonos? Mats was forced to play with guys that were borderline NHLers! And of course let's not forgot good ole Jonas. ((shudder))

i'm not even close to being a leafs fan, and could care less where he's from....i just think calling him captain clutch and the "best leaf ever' is a bit of a stretch
