So the Yankees are 1-9 in their last 10 games. This includes two losses by The Messiah Randy Johnson (salary: $15.4 million). This includes getting their asses kicked two straight (in New York no less) by the hated Sox, by a combined margin of 24-3. Then they got swept by arguably the worst team in baseball with the lowest payroll (KC). Then they lost two of three to the Twins (who are 20th in payroll). Now they've lost two straight to Milwaukee (27th in payroll). So when do the Yankees start dominating exactly?
Ahhhhhhhh, it's a good time to be a Yankee hater. A good time indeed.

No argument here...The East is wide-open this season; with a little timely spending, the Jays could be right there come September...
As for the Yanks, I have no doubt George will buy his way out of this mess (Griffey, Clemens, etc), but hopefully their current funk extends at least one more day...my boy Chris Capuano goes to the hill for the Brew Crew tomorrow...:thumb:
BTW, cferneyh...congrats on taking last week's Fantasy Pool "battle royale" ...hope to hook up with you again in October...

I'm just hoping they get swept out of town; it's been a glorious two days of watching our offense-challenged team get enough runs to beat the hated Yankees. I'd rather have them eek out a close win rather than blow them out coz the tension and heartbreak for those poor overpaid bums is so much sweeter to watch.

It funny how TDC goes away for the times that the Tankees are in a funk.

I think Georgie has put Torre and Cashman on notice. I love that finally throwing stupid money at every free agent available has finally caught up with them. Finally they are resembling the New York Ranger$.

they will start dominating when they can start using steriods again.
does anyone else think that it is not just a coincidence that the league brings in new steriod testing rules and all of a sudden the yankees suck?

Too true, I think Torre had a good run but its time for a change there. If your going to go out and dump a pile of money on players at least make good choices, I didnt think Randy Johnson was that smart of a buy, the guy is obviously on the decline, they should of invested in some strong younger arms instead. Poor decision making and mis-management of money and players is the cause of this. They wasted their money big time on K. Brown, Giambi and R. Johnson [imo].
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

personally i think they should put Womack back at 2nd, Williams back in CF, Matsui back in LF, keep Cano around on the bench (he got some good experience and some good at bats, but now it's time for the guy you went out and got to fill the void at 2nd to get back to playing 2nd!) and switch between Giambi and Sierra at DH (and maybe even star Giambi at 1st more often).
