Good joke guys, haha! Bob Rock producing the hip! I almost fell for it.
Seriously folks, I am worried. I hold the hip up as one of the most artistically credible bands around. I compare them to all other bands for that. If they come out with their own version of OLP's "gravity" I am going to just freak out.

Did Bob Rock have anything to do with "No Threat"? Excuse me if I'm behind on the times but I'm not sure. I assumed Kasper was involved with the song. It is a heavier song than I'm used to the Hip making. I'm just wondering if Bob Rock had any influence on the song. BTW, I like "No Threat". I just hope that the Hip don't turn radio friendly like the songs from OLP's Gravity and all Simple Plan songs.

You can say what you want about Bob Rock everybody, but look what he does.....He is a gifted music producer and musician ( remember Rock and Hyde, of The Payolas)
He also puts money in the bands' pockets that he produces. Something that The Hip hasn't seen in a long while..don't get me wrong people, I LOVE The Hip, the album sales just haven't been there in several years.
Maybe, just maybe, Bob Rock is the ticket to crack the States.
Just my opinion.........

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still panicky about this. I'm surprised this thread isn't at page 10 already.
I told my friend about it, his response: "maybe the hip lost a bet".
I really want this album to be good.

I was hoping this album would be the 1 where the did the producing themselves again.....

Oh God. The new album is a sure bet to suck rocks. (no pun intended).
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the material---as in the songs themselves---will be fine. But this record, like IVL and FC, is sure to sound awful, sapped of energy, *polished* (i.e., crap). And the worst part of it is, this comes after the Hip's best record in years...it risks robbing them of a chance to build on the ears perked up by IBE.
Nor do the Hip have a good track record of defeating bad producers: IVL and FC are both blots, sonically-speaking.
Oh, well. All my arguments to the fallen, former Hip fans, that the Hop are still a hungry-sounding, urgent, muscular band (based on IBE) will be in ruins. Balls.
