Edgefest 2005
#16

IMO, nothing will ever--EVER--top Summersault 2000: the Foo Fighters, OLP, the Smashing Pumpkins on their farewell tour, plus A Perfect Circle and Sum 41 before either of them got big...among others! One of the greatest days of my life; it's a shame we'll never see those kinds of touring festivals again...well, not "never again", but it's looking less and less likely after each passing year.

Thats beyond terrible, once a fine institution Edgefest, now its gone down the tubes. I miss the road trips to Barrie, camping in Wasaga and lots of beer and great bands. All the more reason for "Another Roadside Attraction" baby!

Couldnt of said it any better myself.

Yeah this is getting pathetic..how much Billy talent can one take when they've only had one album out?

For me nothing will ever top ARA '93. The Hip and Midnight Oil. Best double bill EVER!

They certainly paid their dues and suffered through a lot of media backlash. And their cover of New Orleans is Sinking is fun.

That's cool, I didn't know they covered that tune. Let me guess, it's a really fast punked-out version?

It's a doped up version without any lead, and the alignment of the parts are all messed up. It's one minute long, and was done by the band when they went by the name Pezz... it's interesting to say the least...

This is the worst lineup since well last year, as crappy as this year is, at least there is no good charlotte. Bring back ARA or at least some decent bands to fill the bill. Here is an idea for 102.1 if there are not enouhg good bands to play an all day Edgefest then don't have an all day edgefest, just have Billy Talent headline and some band can open for them.

That was an incredible show! I went with my brother and sister to Molson Park in Barrie... Econoline Crush, Sloan, Moist, Tea Party, Foo Fighters and Green Day... one hell of a lineup!! Other than the Hip shows I've been to, this was the single greatest rock show I've ever been to.

Now? Yawn! Last year's lineup was horrific, this one only slightly better... or slightly less horrific, if you will. Man, Edgefest has really hit the skids... sad, really. Cry

i'd say bring back Summersault but OLP is hurtin now, so i dunno, the last one they did was incredible though, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle, OLP (when they were still kick ass), Finger Eleven, man was that a helluva a line up, i'm still pissed that i missed it, the last time the pumpkins played in canada Sad.
,
it's nowhere near what it used to be (think: The Hip, Tool, Headstones, Tea Party, OLP, and basically anyone who's anyone in Canadian rock music), but yeah, Alexisonfire is gonna start oup one craaaaaaaaaaaazay mosh pit with that many kids there, Billy Talent are pretty tight love, and i think they're ready to make the jump to playing in front of huge crowds like this, so that's cool too, Rise Against are pretty badass, the rest of the bands listed suck though, so if that's the whole lineup, it's not very good, btw, i thought they said the last Edgefest was going to be the last one they ever had?

2003 was The Last Bash in Barrie... and leading up to it there was a lot of promotion that made it sound like it was going to be the last Edgefest because there isn't another comparable venue to Molson Park.

Going by the Line up this year, 2003 should of been the last.

I dunno what you all are talking about. This lineup is unbelievably good if you are a teenager. I'm 24 and I like some of those bands, but they couldn't really have nailed this one any better for today's teens.

Billy Talent
Alexisonfire
Rise Against
SOTY
Coheed and Cambria
Bombs Over Providence
Closet Monster

That looks more like Warped Tour than Edgefest...maybe not the greatest lineup for Hip fans, but this show is gonna be huge and I applaude the organizers who booked it.
