Pearl Jam is coming to Canada
#46

I've got a question for all you current Ten Club members. I finally just got membership, a few days ago, after having shitty seats to the last three Toronto shows. Anyway, how does buying tickets work? I doubt I'll get anything in the mail from the Ten Club for some time now, do they send out membership cards or anything? If tickets for this rumoured tour do go on sale in the next week or two, does anyone have any idea how I'd go about buying tickets? Any help would be appreciated....

i think it works like this...you tell 10C which shows you wanna go to and then they will say whats available...pay them and pick up your tix at will call...you wont know what you have until you get there...eliminatyes scalping this way...if you dont mind me asking what are the first 3 digits in your membership #...im interested seeing where they are at now!

I just got a membership a few days ago. The first three digits of my # are 317. Since I'm a newbie, I'm guessing I probably won't get great seats for any of the shows, as I'm sure there are thousands of people with a lower number than me. But hey, anything through 10club is bound to better than general public tickets, right?

I don't know what my membership number is? How would I find that out?

Go to http://www.pearljam.com and click on the "Goods" section. Then click "Log in". Once you've signed in, click on where it says "Profile" and it'll tell you your membership number.

TenClub reserves the best seats in the venue--so in theory, if you're using the TenClub to purchase tickets, you'll end up with better seats than if you use Ticketmaster. Some people whine about getting better seats through Ticketmaster than through TenClub, or that their number is too high to allow for "good" seats, or that they'll never sit first row...but whatever: with TenClub you get guaranteed seats, you don't have to battle with Ticketmaster and you get the added bonus of hanging out in line with a bunch of great people.

Just to give you an idea as to where you might stand: my membership number is 193xxx, and in 2003 I had seats in rows 18 (Buffalo), 31 (State College), 14 (Toronto) and 19 (Montreal). If I had shown up in Buffalo earlier than, well, 4 o'clock, I'd have gotten within the first few rows. It's a sweet, sweet setup--can't recommend it nearly enough.

So what you're saying essentially is that showing up earlier on the day of the show could lead to better seats?

Yes, it does. The TenClub allocates its tickets according to seniority...so, for instance, at the 2003 Toronto show there were three separate blocks for members #1-190xxx (approx), 190,001-240xxx and 240,001 onwards. Then, within each of these blocks (at least as far as I'm aware) there are several, smaller blocks. So yes, the earlier you show up, the better the seats you'll get; that said, if there are actually "blocks within blocks" then the upgrade might be negligible. And that said, the TenClub was talking about changing its ticket policy--so this may be purely academic. Big Grin

Yup. I just double checked and my number definitely starts with 317. (the order ID started with 243) Perhaps they just hand out random numbers to give everybody a fair chance at tickets?? I just joined, so I don't know exactly how it works.

That makes me kind of mad. They hand out the tickets based on your number. The lower your number the better seats you get. So i dont get why you got a lower number than me, when i joined a year before you?? I think i'll be sending an email 10c's way...hundreds of people are signing up with tour rumors and i want the best seats i can get...you know!
