Just wondering if anyone has a thought on Hip lyrics that would be appropriate for a wedding toast. The bride and groom are huge fans and it would be nice to wrap up the toast with an appropriate Hip quote.

Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish
when the little sensation gets in your way
no ambition whisperin’ over your shoulder
Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish, eh
this one thing probably never goes away
I think this one thing is always supposed to stay
this one thing doesn't have to go away

I always thought the line "Lets get friendship right, get life day to day" seemed appropriate.

If you're the one getting married, I've always like this one, from Tom Waits - I know it's not the Hip, gimme a break - from the album Mule Variations, the song is called "Picture in a Frame"
"I'm gonna love you till the wheels come off."
Seems simple but it sure is a beautiful song.
As for Hip quotes:
"It's the perfect time now
for an eclectic choice
they're all asleep but us now
it's time to hear your voice "
Someone here used the lyrics to Gift Shop
And after a glimpse
Over the top
the rest of the world
becomes a gift shop
there's also
It's been a long time running
it's well worth the wait
what about:
"Being drawn along by it, carried under, carried away
By its long term Membersip."

$2.50 for a decade...and a buck and a half for a year
after all...what's marrage but a never ending argument about money?

Lots of great ideas here.

As unusual as it may sound, LTR was the "presentation" song at at the Scottitude wedding. My wife and I dated intermittently for almost ten years before we were married and even those who had never heard of The Hip were touched.
Only you know your friend so only you know what's appropriate. I would suggest tossing in a one liner such as commenting that their love is "ahead by a century" during or after your toast, or stringing together a series a heartwarming phrases to construct an all-Hip toast.
THe misses & I wrote our own declarations and in mine, I strung together some key lyrics from her favorite
Human Drama songs. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I've always felt Sherpa, Giftshop and ABAC to be decent for weddings, toast or first dance.
The solo Trick Rider poem/song is also pretty nifty.

I'm a total pro that's what I'm here for
I come from downtown
Born ready for you
Armed with will and determination
and grace, too
I would like to hear that at my wedding. Best of luck.

Marrying words, falling in your wake
Just to tell what you can't eliminate
or
taking care of each other one bullet to another
when it's all, "If a song can't save us then nothing can"
Are we family, or what?
