Ticketmaster is stupid
#1

I got this email today:

Hello Adam,

We're excited to announce these tickets are on sale soon in your areas.

On Sale Fri, 11/19/04:
The Tragically Hip Tickets
Use this email to find tickets on Fri, 11/19/04.

I already ordered my tickets on friday, and in fact i picked them up at the box office yesterday. They are so dumb. glad to see that they are putting all those convenience charges to work. :rambo: :rambo:

I love how they used your first name, as if you guys are pals or something. Stuff like that creeps me out, when a faceless corporation adresses me by my first name (or even better, when they say not just 'Stephen', but 'Steve' ) in a generic letter...I dont know why...

I found it hilarious when ticketmaster sent me a reminder email for the Hip show at GM on sunday...'Oh, thanks ticketmaster, your a real pal! I totally forgot!' Smile

I know Ticketbastard generates a lot of complaints, and I have been annoyed too, but I'm sure glad they're in Saskatoon now. A couple years ago we had Select-a-Seat, which had no www ticket purchase site. Anyone who has sat outside the box office for 5 hours in -25 degree weather the day tickets go on sale for a concert I'm sure would agree. And to get through via phone? Forget about it.
The online purchasing is almost a godsend. I'll gladly pay the extra $10 per ticket to be able to get good seats online and take only 5 minutes of my time doing it from the comfort of my home.

It also says to wait 2 business days before pickup.

After hearing all of this, I'm happy that I didn't have to go through Ticketmaster to get tickets for the Halifax show. Although, I had to call the Metro Centre box office to get tickets..
