thats the only problem with canadian hockey,
we have no shortage of outstanding players when it comes to picking our team

Bertuzzi, Primeau, Nash, Cheechoo, TooToo, Souray, Roberts, Shannahan, Carter, and the list goes on and on and on...
and how anyone could think that Koivu isn't a superstar is beyond me, he's the best player from Finland today, he's the captain of the greatest hockey franchise of all time, he lead the playoffs with points for like at least a whole week after Montreal was knocked out of them, he's got speed, stick handling, grit, he forechecks, he backchecks (he beats-czechs :mrgreen
he scores, he sets up plays, the guy does it all, he might be small but that should say even more about how talented he is playing in and being one of the top players in what's turning into a big man's game.

not really lol, but he should be on the next world championship team next time there's an nhl season and the preds are out though.

Uh I don't think so...Tootoo is not a great player at all. If he wasn't Inuit (I hope I got that right...I know he's Native) he would be completely unheard of.
Keith Primeau and Rick Nash should have gotten on for sure!
Right now it's 1-1 in the Sweden-Germany game, proving why I can't STAND Tommy Salo. The guy has always been overrated, and tonight his .500 save percentage in the first period is proof! It's actually kinda tragic that Sweden doesn't have any goaltenders of note...I think they have the best offensive lines in the world, just as good or better than Canada. Unfortunately for them, Canada is the much better team as a whole package, once you take offense, defense and goaltending into account. But Sweden could take home the gold without breaking a sweat if they had a Kolzig or Biron to back them up!

They will for sure...Tommy Salo just gave up his SECOND short handed goal of the night.
One more goal and he won't even finish the night, let alone the tournament. Sweden's only up by two goals, and with Salo playing as poorly as he is (and always has), it's a shaky lead to say the least.

Sweden scored again, TooToo is an awesome player, just give a few more years to hone his skills, the guy's explosive, and he definately has the potential to be a "great" player. i think just about any team in the league would be glad to have him.

Looks like I got my wish already...Alfredsson assisted on a Sundin goal. Those two have the best one-two punch in the world...Alfredsson's pass was absolutely brilliant through traffic and Sundin's goal on the backhand was fantastic!
Can you imagine what would happen if one NHL team picked up both of them at some point in the future! I would love to see that. It could singlehandedly (well, two-handedly!) rejuvenate the game!

It would be like mogilny and Lafontaine all over again! hey darkest canuck --- me thinks you are a little biased when it comes to players from the Habs....which isnt the best hockey franchise anyways.

I don't understand how anyone can honestly think Primeau belongs on the team. He's an overrated bum, and he's always been an overrated bum. He had a whopping 7 goals last year, and he's been a .56 points-per-game player over the last three seasons. He had a fairly decent playoffs (for a change, and largely thanks to Bryan McCabe), but if you look at the stats a little closer, you'll see that he was a major homer during the playoffs (9 road games, 2 pts, -2, 9 home games, 12 points, +11). Unless they were playing a bunch of games in Philly, he'd be completely useless in the World Cup. At least Maltby and Draper have their name on the Cup. What has Primeau ever done to deserve to be put up among the game's elite?

TooToo has already proven how much of a rat he is. It's true that if he wasn't Inuit he wouldn't get all the attention he does. I'm not saying that's the only reason, I mean the guy played well at the World Jr's. He's just not that good against pro players and I don't think he has much of an upside either.
