We should be able to take them no problem. They've had a lot of injuries among their biggest stars...Ziggy Palffy and Michal Handzus are both down for the count, along with two other skaters. It'll be nice to see if Zdeno Chara gets to make a difference in the game, because he's effectively one of the team's leaders now.

But no interest in seeing a Senator succeed can temper my 100% concrete belief that Canada will beat them!

Just a quick note: if it weren't for the owners there would be no league either! If it weren't for the owners the players would have to actually work a normal job to make a living and since half of the players don't have a brain I think that would be tough for them. The owners are billionaires anyway, with or without the NHL. If there was no hockey they would make their money in other business ventures. It is the players who need the owners, not the other way around.


As far as the World Cup, Canada should win gold but it is no guarantee. Putting Maltby on the team was a complete slap in the face to all decent Canadian hockey players who play the game the right way. Anyway, Canada has the best players but that's not always who wins. It wouldn't bother me that much if Canada didn't win anyway.

Well, Canada DIDN'T win...but we did salvage a tie with Jarome Iginla's help. Final result two goals apiece for us and the Slovaks.

Here's hoping we can pull off something better than that when the games really start tomorrow!
