I don't know. The summer seems to be fine down here. The weather has been hot, mid 20's celcius, and there hasn't been much rain.

As far as the environment, what should we all do? Pay 50 grand for a Hybrid car?

Yes, because that is about the amount of time people really have been polluting this world.

It's really just all the data that they have available to use. My point is that 100 years of data is insignificant when talking about global climate trends.

Sitting at the top of the food chain should require us to act in a way conducive to the continued success of our planet. Whether humans are 100% to blame or not, en masse, we are certainly not doing anything to help improve the situation.

I agree, we should always try to limit the harm in which we do to our home and find ways to improve on it. I don't agree that we're not doing anything to help the situation though. The world is generaly a cleaner place than it was only 20 years ago. Advances are being made in how we handle our garbage, deal with emmisions, etc. Things are getting better. They should rename it "Global Death as a Result of the Actions of Humankind!" I think that would get the point across better than soft terms like global warming.

I'm not totally sold that human actions alone are the reason for a shift in temperatures. The world was getting warmer and cooler for years and years before we showed up.

As for the shitty summer weather, well with my business, I couldn't be
happier that the drought on the prairies is over.

I'm right behind you on this one, sherpa. The "global warming" theory has gained much more popularity politically than scientifically.

Sorry to hear you Northerners aren't enjoying this summer's weather. Here in Ohio, it has been the absolute most pleasurable summer I have ever experienced (weather-wise). I've seen more blue sky this June, July, and August than I can remember seeing in any other year. Usually, the sky is thick and greyish with humidity, even when there is no cloud-cover. I've saved a fortune on utilites, and I don't think I've had to turn on the A/C yet this August. :jump
