A Hip fact that Non Hip fans always seem to get a kick out of is the Monkey's link. THE Monkey's? Yeah, those Monkey's.
And of course, you guys know this already:
They played Monkey's covers (How much would that go for on e-bay today?)
...and the name, Nesmith video... you know the deal.

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Yes, Johnny was in BB2000.
There is a scene in a strip club or something and he is a patron.
Just playing the part of an extra.

Well that is why I am here.
I am the guy for everything useless.
Maybe I should rename myself thehip.com instead of Tthip.

It's true, JF is a bit of a dick and he's even said that before (sorry don't have the source). I did get a drumstick from him once in Grand Rapids though, wraped in wracket tape or something.
When I met them in Cincinnati he was the only one who wouldn't come out for autographs/photo's. All the other guys were amazing, we even saw Robby before the show and he was so cool. Talked and talked like he didn't have anything better to do. After the show & autograph session Robby took me and another guy on the bus to find Gord S. Johnny was sitting at the table drinking a high ball listening to In Utero and didn't even look up.
When I got gord d to sign my poster I asked him to make it out to "Ben" - he started writing and when I got it back he put 'The Ben Hotel, since 1974.... Gord Downie' I thought that was the coolest thing ever. He signed everyones stuff with something unique. He seemed so shy and reserved, totally opposite of his stage presence. We got some good photo's that night from the front row. Gordy couldn't believe we rented a car and drove down from Waterloo just for the show. He said about 10 times, 'be careful driving home tongiht guys'. Class act all the way.
Hello BTW, first post here!
Been to 25+ Hip shows and they definitely made the best one into Live between Us. Still makes my hair stand on end.

Wow! Thanks for sharing that great story. I've never had the pleasure of meeting any of them, but I hope to. From everything I've read on this forum, they are, for the most part, a great bunch of guys.
Oh yeah, almost forgot.... welcome aboard!

Each of the members of The Hip are 3 degrees from Kevin Bacon.
Using Gord Downie as an example...
The Oracle says: Gord Downie has a Bacon number of 3.
Gord Downie was in Men with Brooms (2002) with Leslie Nielsen
Leslie Nielsen was in Nuts (1987) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon
