The Heart of the Melt

Drez7 Wrote:Oh yeah, if you're in the 100 section at Darien, beware...I've heard the usher's are very Nazi like this year!! They've been know to throw people out for singing along too loudly, hitting beach balls, taking pictures, wearing any NHL jersey other than the Sabres. I know one guy who got kicked out for smiling during the Dave Matthews show.

Yikes...this should be interesting. I have 10th row...we'll have to see how things go.

Where were those Nazi usher's two years ago - when this super drunk, very LARGE and rather butt ugly woman was piss drunk and flashing everyone (and NOT wearing a bra). It was hideous.

I haven't had much luck for taking pics at Darien Lake...they seem pretty tough with the no cameras allowed routine.

Killer Whale Tank Wrote:My only beef (if anyone cares) is that he sounds too much like Geddy Lee on that tune. But it is absolutely deadly---especially the part about the dorsal fin, etc..

Are the last twenty seconds or so THE most ferocious guitar work on any Hip album? They just may be. :thumb:

Dude, quit saying that! Not to upset any Rush fans, but I can't stand the thought of Gord being compared to Geddy Lee. ARGHGHGH!

This is actually one of my least favorite tunes from the album

For those who are impartial to this tune, wait until you hear it live. They finished the first set in Edmonton with this tune and it was electrifying!

I have to agree with Kim. It's not that it isn't a strong song, I just feel like it doesn't fit with the rest of the album. *ducks to avoid various flying objects*

I'm not exactly sure how a different opinion is sacrilegious...It's not like I said I think that Justin Timberlake should replace Gord for the upcoming tour...

I don't know... I've spent all this time grading the songs and saying shit like, "Oh! This one's my favorite!!" and shit like, "Ew! That's my least favorite..." But it just suddenly hit me when I was reading this thread... Ain't it just friggin great that the Hip came out with a new album!! I mean Jesus! I'm loving every song for the simple fact it's new Hip stuff.

So everybody say it with me, "I'm a Hip Junkie!!"

Maximum crankage. I like that. And you're right, this tune definitely gets the heart racing.

the song is smokin no doubt --but, the part that needsto be longer is the section at the "dorsal fin"--i mean damn!-- you can hear thunder coming down for a few short seconds --how cool would it be to stretch that breakdown into a full on jam?----then its back to the beginning time signature.---here's prayin they take full advantage of it live!.
