Here is link to the 2003 All-Star Game musical announcements. I guess there is a very good possibility that we will get both: 1) the 'Anthems' and 2) a two song set from the Hip?

I read it twice...am i missing something...the hip arent mentioned?? :?

No you aren't, that is last year's music announcement for the 2003 game in Chicago. I just posted it as a reference point as to what we can expect for the Hip to be doing this year.

I never thought they would play 2 songs at a MLB game, but in looking at last year's line up I guess anything is possible (the Ataris, Live, and Brian McKnight??).

People, believe what you want. I was at their hotel last night in Edmonton for the after-show, which is where Gord mentioned it.

Earlier tonight I heard about some comments in this thread, so I tried to talk to Gord about the anthem stuff again at tonights after-show, but he was mauled and left early. I'll try Friday night.

It sure would spark interest in the all star game for me thats for sure. Right now my plans to watch the all star game are, well i dont have any plans to watch the all star game.

As for Mod Club June 28...ive heard nothing else since the original post was floated. I do think its a possibility because the 29th show is just the new songs/dj moronic patter and crowd questions and not a full show.

But being Friday 3pm I would think its going to have to be a surprise announcement, first 500 people to the Mod Club win type of deal.

there is no way there is going to be a show on the 28th. That would be 2 free shows for the hip (arent making much from the 29th show and would have to charge at the door). I know they its not all about the cash for them, but dont you think there would be some sort of announcement by now?? Something would have had to leak out. I think 'rounder' got confused when the TO papers originally announced the mod club gig for the 28th, and when the official announcement said the 29th, they assumed 2 shows. I would put all my money ona no show...although it would be nice :wink:

As confused as Rounder records may be, by which I mean getting the 28th and 29th mixed up, there must be somthing terribly wrong with the webmaster to mistake a date at the MLB All-Star game. Although, logically, from Ottawa to Wasaga to Texas in three days, well, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense either... especially because it's Texas... can somebody call the MLB head office?

I am with TLB on this one.. i heard the same thing today from a friend of mine at work who is close friends with the Hip's project manager at SL Feldman.

(yes i know it sounds like one of those i heard it from a friend who..heard it from a friend who....heard it from another....) wait that's an REO Speedwagon song.

From what i heard it's just Gord flying down with the project manager for the game and the anthem singing....no not a duet!

I wasn't able to confirm things with Gord again after Dicks because the after-show was family only. Seeing as I heard it from him once already, I'll stick with that. Gord will be in Houston.
