If they came out with a greatest hits CD, I'd buy it.
I don't think they should though.
What would they put on it?
The songs that got the most airplay?
Who says those are the best songs?
But it might turn alot of people into fans.

I would definately buy it. First off I'm a collector and love to have every official release I can get. My collection would feel incomplete without it if it existed, but that's just me. I can understand some of the resons why people are saying it would be redundant, filled with songs we're all overexposed to already, but I can think of some things about a compilation that may make it worthwhile for others that may not have been considered, or at least I have not yet seen mentioned. First off, New artwork and packaging that comes with a new release. Also the potential for new liner notes, like narrative by the band members about the origins of the songs, I've seen that on best of type collections before. Also, quite often best of collections will feature a new song or two. If a Hip greatest hits CD came out with some new tracks, I think more fans would condsider picking it up. Additionally, A greatest Hits CD release might also mean a "Greatest Hits" type DVD release to coincide with the CD. I would love to have a DVD with all the videos!

Yeah, I would buy it for the sake of my collection. Halo-Rez is right about the art work and liner notes too. Even without any "new" songs, there'd still be something new about the collection.

I'd buy it just to complete my collection... even though i'd probably hardly ever listen to it.
It would be cool to have the hipclub.com bonus tracks on an official release... And greatest hits album with those as bonus tracks would be sweet! :thumb:

My opinion on this.. first.. To make a proper 'Greatest Hits CD' you would have to make a box set!!
For example.. If I think of every Hip song I have heard on the radio since 1987.. You would have to include whole albums in some cases :wink:
I could very well see a box set.. maybe not quite yet.. it's an idea :thumb:
