The Official Canada Day Gathering Thread

What's up with the parking lot tailgate situation at the Amp? Last show I went to there we were told that we couldn't grill because the last year 5 cars went up in flames because of someone BBQing. Also, they made us put away the beers. Is this a normal policy. We were of legal drinking age and were just sitting around minding our own business. If you can't then I would love to hit up a local area bar or something of the sort.

Map of Ontario Place:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ontarioplace.com/new/visitor/parkmap.html">http://www.ontarioplace.com/new/visitor/parkmap.html</a><!-- m -->

Cursor down to find the little icons (like washrooms), move over top of one of them and it flashes where all washroom locations are.

Also click "Foods/Restaurants", lists all eatery's and bar's in Ontario Place!!

The best place to party before hand just might be the parking lot at the CNE. Rules of the road: paying 20 bucks to park automatically gives the other people in the car the right to get hammered in said parking lot.

If people are taking public transit, the meeting place could be by Union Station, resulting in a very drunken street car ride to the venue (which just might make that street car ride barable for once).

Cheers

Just wondering..if anyone is spending the night? I know I won't feel like driving home. Does anyone know of a decent priced place to stay that's near by?

The Tap & Grill looks like it might be good idea. It's at Soak City.

Perhaps a meeting time between 5:00pm and 6:30pm would be good and then head on over to the show!!

Thoughts, suggestions!!!

Sounds good. Do you know if the beer prices are reasonable? What time does the show start? Or should I say what time do the hip come on? 9pm?

I'm not sure of beer prices. I think the gates are at 7:30. I'm guessing Joel Plaskett from 8:00 - 8:45pm and the hip on around 9:15 ending somewhere around 11pm...

Last time I saw the Hip there beer came in small and large. I think the small was 6.00 and the large was 8.00. Might as well have a few before hand to cut down costs...

Yeah I don't want to pay like 8 buks for some crappy beer. :twisted: Maybe we could all meet at a bar near by and than split on cabs to get there?
Than at least we could drink good beer at a fair price. I don't know..what do you all think.
