This is my all-time favorite Hip album. Gotta love that translation from Flamenco to 700!

I've always believed Springtime was one of the few songs better on the record than live. I think Nautical, well all of DFN for that matter are the only others. But Springtime, definitely better on the record. Anyone else agree?

I have a really fun version of springtime. Its from Pine Knob in 2000 i think.... Gord lets the crowd sing the song (for some reason, voice problems maybe, cause its also last song of night)
Anyway, I just think theres more energy with the audience and they feed off it

I like both live and studio......
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

I think Don't Wake Daddy would be sweet if it was sped up like So Hard Done By.

Yes, Phantom Power rocks hard! This was the first Hip studio album I actually bought the day it was released, living through the hype of the album, Poets and subsequential touring. It was a new Hip experience for me, and it also was a wakeup call to how many people were really slagging them in the period after TATH was released. (I got LBU when it was released, but it wasn't new Hip. I picked up TATH at the same time as PP. I bought D4N, my first Hip disc, in mid-1995 from a pawn shop for $4.)

when the little sensation gets in your way
not one ambition whisperin' over your shoulder
Isn't it amazing you can do anything...."

Vapour trails is great. I love it because it sort of has a "Day For Night" sound to it. in my opinion, this was the best song since Nautical Disaster.

Phantom Power...is Chagrin Falls the band's favourite track of the record? Considering it wasn't anything close to a single, it gets as much concert play as possible...definitely a shocker when they pulled it out 3rd song on the final night of the 2000 tour. But it works, it definitely does. It's one of my faves on the record, but nothing tops Escape Is At Hand...sheer brilliance.

Time for M@W. I think most of us have fond memories of listening to the whole album months before the release. It seemed too good to be true! ...but we all bought it when it was released, didn't we?
My favorites have to be My M@W, Tiger The Lion, Lake Fever, Stay & Sharks. I love the album cover too. ... Much better than the crappy one I made myself!
