I've driven past it about a gazillion times, and I've stayed there twice. They really do have soft water and color TVs! The drive from Calgary to Vancouver is quite possibly the most beautiful stretch of road in the known universe. I'll never get tired of it.

Ya I love that drive. I've done the drive from Calgary to Kamloops a million times and to Vancouver a bunch as well. There's so much great scenery on that drive. It's a beautiful thing. :thumb:

Ohh yes, I agree sooo much, take highway 99 on your way , from Lilloet to Vancouver, that's the most beautifull scenery I think i've ever seen. The view of Lilloet is spectacular from the other side of the Fraser River too.

That reminds me of the Milhaven exit just outside Ktown on the 401. Everytime I drove past it going to Queens, I wanted to throw in 38 years old.

I remember the first time I ever actually heard 38 Years Old was when my mother actually worked at Millhaven maximum security.

Nah, we all lived a pretty sheltered life. It comes with being born in Newfoundland I think.

Somebody died of a drug overdose or something like that when she worked there, and they wheeled the body past her.

And my brother also says that my mother was an extra in Blues Brothers 2000, which they filmed partially at Millhaven. However, my brother says a lot of things, so you never can tell with that guy...

Nothing like family to vouch for the sanity or truthfulness for siblings!

I have a question for you all. I live in the 1000 islands area near Alex bay. Most you might know that's near Kingston. As you're coming to the international bridge to go into canada there's a green highway sign that says "Last American Exit" There has been rumors here and there in my area that one of the hip memebers might have used that sign for the song on thier first album. I was wondering if any of you had any info on this? Thanks :thumb:

There are signs like that all over border towns on both sides of the line. "Last Canadian/American Exit..." The sign and the location used in the old 1987 video look like more a like a Western crossing than an Ontario locale, but who knows.

I'm sure the "Last American Exit" and "Cemetery Side Road" signs near Kingston were influences for those songs somewhere along the way...
