Hip trips (The Wall, Bobcaygeon etc...)
#1

So whose jumped in the car and driven someplace just because it has a Hip conection? I myself have been to the LBU wall in Kingston, and I've had my photo taken in front of the "Welcome to Bobcaygeon" sign in that stary little town. And once, I drove past the Lofty Pines Motel on my way to the 'Gonq.

Anybody been to the Golden Rim Motor Inn?

I would like to do that some day. I guess the next logical place would be the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, the new one anyway.

Never actually stayed there (can't enjoy the luxury) but have been to it and past it many times.

Never fails to bring a smile to my face and put a new tune to play over in my head or on the stereo depending on the selection available. :thumb:

I plan on heading to Bobcaygeon, Toronto and Kingston in the next year or so:-)

There's plenty of hip places I've been. I started a thread about it a while ago.

Here's my list:
Lake Memphremagog
Montreal
Toronto
New York City
Niagra Falls
New Orleans
Buffalo

here's the thread:-)

Well, let's see...I'm a spoiled only child that grew up in northeastern New York State about one hour south of Montreal. I've been to Memphremagog because my Ex-husband is from that area and I went to NO in the summer of 91 on the way to Florida. We took the LONG way around. I've been to all of those places, except for NO, many times. I was just in Niagra in January!

Did you ride the Maid of the Mist? That is $12 WELL spent. Honestly, it's stunning.

Lemme guess, you were "just visiting" the Penn for two years less a day right? Actually, I tried to take a picture of the place and a corrections Canada goon pulled up in a van and threatened to confiscate my camera if I didn't leave Immediately!

Hey all you folks planning a "Hip trip"...

Don't forget to take the #7 west from Ottawa. Once you make it past the turn off for Ashton, but before you get to Carleton Place, you will find an intersection that maybe of some interest. Turn right and you're heading to Appleton. Turn left however, and you're on the "Cemetery Side Road". The inspiration for the song, I'm led to believe. :?

Last time I was out that way, the road sign was still there. Might make for a great "photo op". :thumb:

Not this time, it was just a brief stop on the trip moving me back to NY state from Minnesota. I did ride it many many years ago when I took an overnight trip with the girl scouts. I'd do it again in a heart beat. I plan on maybe going back in the fall, the friend I was traveling with had never been to Niagra and it was SO damn cold and we couldnt' cross the border because of my cat and the high terror alert. I didn't want them going through all of my boxes. It wasn't the best experience so I'm bringing her back.

The boat trip on the Maid of the Mist is one awesome experience; I've been to Chagrin Falls( parents used to live in Cleveland), been to Toronto numerous times, its probably my favorite city in the world.
