Without a doubt Throwing off Glass to me is simply beautiful  I love Paul's guitar, I was always a little confused though to their reasons for putting it on the Men With Brooms soundtrack then again on IVL? Anyone have any insight on this

cratch:
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Gord said it was his favourite song on the record, so I imagine that's why he wanted it on the album. I personally think it was STUPID to put it on the soundtrack. It sounds out of place, and it doesn't have anything to do with anything in the movie. It was clearly meant for an album and I agree that it suits IVL well and I love the song.

Now that the MWB soundtrack has come up, I forgot to mention how much I hate "Oh Honey". It's not that it's actually a terrible song, it's just bo-o-oring. Not worthy of the Hip's good name. I paid $20 for the stupid soundtrack just to hear the 2 new Hip songs and I was so very disappointed with Oh Honey.

Are you guys kidding?? I always thought Oh Honey was one of their most delicate tracks, and lyrically, very strong. I don't know if it was right for IVL, but I always thought it would be a great closer for an album. Guess that's just me....one track I haven't been digging lately is "Bring It All Back"...it's just too New Orleans bluesy for me, it sounds very forced. But look at me, I've taken out No Code and now I'm giving it another go...

l loved "oh honey", but i am probably a strange hip fan. the prettiest song they have ever done.
my least faves have to be:
most of the EP
Boots or Hearts
three pistols
Fire In the Hole (album cersion)
Apartment Song
Thompson Girl
Membership
Firworks (Ok live, but not on the album)
Putting Down
Wild Mountain Honey
A Beautiful Thing
i love all the hip songs, but these are some tracks where i feel they are guilty of being either too boring or too "bar band-ish". i think the hip consistantly to do inventive, exciting work, but these tracks always felt average to me...

I can let most of that slide, but Thompson Girl?! Duuuude...great song. And Wild Mountain Honey too, but I get why you might not like it. Totally agree about Beautiful Thing and Fireworks, I'm so tired of that song.
