They say there's an 8 year cycle with music.

I'd agree, and I hope the cycle holds true...anyone else find that "New Wave" is making a bit of a comeback, sort of? Interpol, White Stripes, Radiohead, Coldplay, you can tell they all take their cues from Joy Division, the Cure, and they're all huge right now...

Huh...i've never heard anyone describe Radiohead as new wave. Mind you I'm not sure what genre I'd place them in mysel Confusedcratch: f

What I meant, New Wave WAS new wave, it was new then, it's done. But all those bands I listed definitely are influenced by them, and you could say they're all at the height of their careers right now, or so we think. 5 years ago most of those bands weren't THAT big, so maybe 5 years from now, something else will make a big comeback...grunge anyone?

I have noticed, however, that radio stations here don't play the Hip at all (and certainly no Gord)...maybe that's why. Even though 89X is a Canadian-owned station and thus have to fill the Canadian-content quota, they don't play them! :? It's all about marketing.

I assume you're talking about the solo shows cause the Hip shows are pretty packed here.

And I agree that 89X sucks. I'm subjected to the shite that is played on it all day at work. :|

Hey Baked...
You're lucky you get 89X at work! I work in Ann Arbor and I only get 2 stations in this building; U of M which CAN be awesome, but more often than not they play this whacked-out pots and pans music (if it can be called thata) which is enough to make me wanna put a gun to my head. And my other option is some really cheesy station that plays Neil Sedacca (ET turn on your heartlight)...again making me want to blow my own head off
And yeah I was talking about Gord's solo show.

I'd rather listen to NPR :|
