What is your phobia?
#16

Last week I woke up in a pile of blood. I had apparently blown my ear drum overnight. It't the spontaneous sort of crap that scares me the most. Like waking up blind or finding your cat dead, stuff you have no direct control over. I guess it's sort of a morbid approach on this topic, sorry.

Mine is definitely heights. I can handle a plane and tall buildings, but getting on a ladder, or walking around on a precarious place, no way! My sense of balance is horrible!

This is not really a phobia, but more of a social situation. It seems to happen randomly. I tend to smirk when someone is talking to me, even my wife! It pisses her off to no end. Someone could be telling me that their father passed away and I would smirk. I have no idea why. People must think I laugh in their face. I try to explain to my wife that it comes on uncontrollably and I actively try to stop it, but it doesnt help all the time. Any ideas?

Cheers!

Chad,
I wonder if it is your way of not knowing what kind of expression to use in certain situations? I am not sure, Confusedcratch: But, I have to admit, your post made me laugh...sorry

Okay, I had to bring this post back up...
As I said, I HATE spiders :rambo: Well, I justy killed a very big jet black spider in our garage...yuck!! I didn't think that they got that big around here. Now I am freaked out about it, if it had gotten into our house I would have probably had a heart attack, over a harmless insect. Nonetheless, I have been freaked out since!!
Just thought I would share this with you, for what reason, I don't know!!! 8) -Jen

I've got no phobia. The only thing that worries me are my kids. Although they're no little children anymore, I'm still worried when they're late for supper, or not at home when I go to sleep.
My brains tell me they can take care of themselves, but my feelings tell me something else. I guess this is part of being a mother..

I have a huge fear of coming in contact with say a Paul Bernardo!
If it's late a night and I am walking to my car alone I can feel my heart just racing!!
But besides that I hate bats! Good for the environment, but really gross looking.

Cockroaches... they are so disgusting, they make my skin crawl...

When I used to live in dorms in Amsterdam we had a couple of them. I would come home from partying late at night, switch on the kitchen light and see/hear the nasty critters scurrying away to a safer hiding place.....

Just thinking about them gives me the creeps..
