ceebuler Wrote:Well, may I be the first (or one of the first I hope) to say that that was probably the best performance I've seen, out of well over 20!! All the bands were terrific, but the Hip came out at the end and it instantly became a Hip show. They played (maybe out of order): The Man Comes Around (Johnny Cash), Bobcaygeon, Flamenco, Going Going Gone (Bob Dylan), Daredevil, Ahead by a century, The New Maybe, and Powderfinger (Neil Young - with everyone taking verses). Amazing setlist. Gord's voice was excellent and he was grinning the whole time - seemed to really enjoy the singing along. Everyone sat through most of the night, but the crowd was on its feet for the Hip's entire set. I just wish their was an encore.
Before the Hip came out, the band members could be spotted in the crowd, enjoying the other bands. Gord was cuddling with a very pregnant woman (I assume it was his wife - at least I hope).
K...gotta go play powderfinger now.
Hope to hear some other, more in depth reviews.

ceebuler had all the right songs, but not the exact order... so here it is:
The Man Comes Around (Johnny Cash)
Bobcaygeon
Flamenco
Daredevil
The New Maybe
Going Going Gone (Bob Dylan)
Ahead By A Century
Powderfinger (Neil Young - with all of the evenings performers on stage and singing verses)
It was an incredible show from start to finish. Danny Michel, Matt Mays (solo), Sam Roberts Band, Sarah Harmer and The Hip. (Kathleen Edwards was sick).
Dave Hodge, Doug Gilmour, Brent Banbury (CBC Radio), and Paul Coffey all made appearances on stage.
Lance, Stephen Dame and I had a really thrilling day, starting with the soundcheck, followed by 40+ minutes of conversation with Gord D, Gord S and Paul. I need to compile my thoughts before I post 'em. Needless to say, it was awesome! (And I got most of it on video...)
