Is anyone doing the Groningen/Utrecht/Amsterdam triple-header? Barring catastrophe or a sudden attack of common sense, I'm going to try to book tickets Monday.

I'm planning to catch Utrecht/Amsterdam. I already booked my train ticket (I'm studying in Germany right now). However, I noticed today on the Paradiso's website that the Amsterdam show is already sold out. Hopefully there will still be some tickets at the door or else I will have to rely on scalpers or legit people with cancellations..

Well, I guess this is what I get for my last-minute planning. Ticketmaster says Utrecht is sold out, too, and I'm not sure I want to fly in from Chicago for one show and then not get tickets for the other two. Anyone have any thoughts/ideas/advice? I'm going to be really bummed if this doesn't work out.

If you can get tickets for either Utrecht or Amsterdam then Brussels is a relatively short and fairly inexpensive train ride away. If you've only got tickets for Groningen then, well, Brussels ain't really that close (at least not in European terms). I'll be in Brussels and was debating either Utrecht or Amsterdam, but now my decision is made for me....

I bit the bullet and got my tickets for the Netherlands. Flight booked, concert tickets on their way god knows where (long logistical nightmare of a story), rooms and train tickets reserved. I figure the worst-case scenario is that I wander the streets of Amsterdam for four days, and really, there are worse worst-case scenarios. I'm pretty psyched! I just hope this goes better than my last-minute trip to Denver did.

Hey- I'm in the same boat you are. I'm fairly confident that we'll be able to find some scalpers, or even purchase tickets at the Paradiso box office (I did this in Detroit in May for a show that was supposedly 'sold out'). Regardless, I'd be happy to wander the streets/coffeeshops of A'dam with ya. I'm pretty excited about my first trip to the Netherlands!

Nice! I'm always willing to wander solo, but good company is definitely appreciated. I've only been to the Netherlands on excessively long layovers, so I'm looking forward to it. When are you showing up? How long will you be there? Are you trying for all three shows? (Sorry, I don't think I've been posting long enough to have PMs yet, but soon!) I get in Wednesday morning and am taking a train up to Groningen and going from there. I don't think I'll have any functional way to communicate, but I'm pretty easily recognizable, being a small bald American girl in a Canada hat loitering in front of clubs. You (or anyone, really) should totally say hi if you see me, and we can figure it out from there.

I'm scratching that idea now. I had a crazy idea to rent a car and drive straight back to London immediately after the show in time to catch my flight at 10am. :roll: I don't think I can safely drive on the left hand side though. :oops: Oh well, two shows is more than good enough!
