I'm somewhat disappointed. I was hoping for August dates to go along with my vacation days. It will be difficult to get time off in November.

Thumper (our working title for the baby) arrives around June 30. Is November too early for a EuroHip Trip?

Babies fly free. Just line up sitters during the shows, and you're in business.

My wife and Thumper would come on the trip, but not to the shows. She'd stay with him. She was VERY supportive of this idea when I mentioned that the tour was in November.

^ five months is a very portable time. However, on the non-show evenings, expect to be in your hotel room at 8 pm looking at your wife saying, "ok, I guess we go to bed too, then."

My latest was just 5 months old for our last airline trip this past february. He was great on the plane (3 hours) and he was totally content being pushed in the stroller and looking around/sleeping as we walked around at night. Babies and fresh air rocks.

Another thing to ponder is the strong possibility that, come June 30 (or whatever date thumper comes thumping out of the womb), all of this business of traveling great distances and spending large sums of money just for a few rock'n'roll concerts will suddenly seem trivial and relatively meaningless. Trust me, Chris - Thumper will change your priorities in ways you have yet to imagine.

I'd hold off on buying overseas airfare until after the baby comes, and you get a grip on where your head's at with how completely life-altering fatherhood really is.

We are definitely waiting until he 's born. Leah wants a vacation, I need a vacation, The Hip tour gives us a destination, but as you said, and from everything I've heard, once he's born life changes.

And now back to more chatter about the EuroHip tour:

Paradiso, a standard stop for Das Hips, doesn't list dates past August. And other common venues have websites with dates into November showing?

The Effenaar, yes!!
But why are they not publishinh the rest?
Even Paradiso, Oosterpoort, Tivoli will/can not confirm the concerts.
I know that november will be the month.
Something greet to look forward.
Even my son is already enthousiastic.

I doubt the Effenaar date is supposed to be published yet, more likely it has leaked early.

I'm still pondering which UK venue we'll see, Shepherds Bush again? Have they sold out the last few UK shows? If so they might go for the Hammersmith Apollo which is, I believe, a bit bigger!

HA! That's funny! I didn't know other people used "working titles" for their kids. We used Clyde for both of ours.
