I wasn't really feeling the new metric, kinda boring.

I like Oceania, it's always nice at the very least when the pumpkins decide to rock out, instead of going all soft on us. That being said, i still like Zeitgeist better so far, at this point in time.

I'll have to check that Tea Party out.

Mo Kenny is releasing a new album on Sept. 25th. Joel Plaskett co-wrote a couple of the songs, and he produced the album.

Interpol ... Re-release of TOTBL, a stunningly beautiful LP. Wish the hip did something similar to this ...

"In 2002, we released our first album, Turn On the Bright Lights. We had waited close to five years for the opportunity to record an album. Needless to say this was a memorable moment for us. We never had any expectations for how the album would be received. We just wanted to present our music as an album to anyone who would be open to hearing it. It was incredible to finally tour and see people react to these songs. We never could have imagined that the album would have reached so many people throughout the world.

We spent a good deal of time this past year digging through our archives and asking others to dig through theirs in the hopes of uncovering some forgotten material. The result of our hunting and gathering has yielded this Tenth Anniversary Edition of Turn On the Bright Lights. We wanted to do something special for the fans who have always supported us. We wanted to do something special for the best fans in the world. We hope you enjoy it.

He finished that album pretty quickly. It's only been a year and a bit since he released the excellent and criminally underrated Straitjacket Love. Looks like he's got a new band assembled for this one: The Do Good Assassins.

Not-so-special mention to Muse for releasing an album that is basically self-parody. It's so over-the-top, disjointed, ridiculous, and derivative of other artists that I can't help applauding their utter lack of restraint, but they really could have used a strong-willed producer to reign them in a little. Ah well, when you're one of the biggest bands in the world and will sell millions no matter what you do I guess that sort of thing doesn't really matter.

Here is a list of things that were essentially plagiarized in The 2nd Law: Led Zeppelin (Kashmir), James Bond Theme, U2, Michael Jackson (Thriller; this track is worth the price of admission alone), Queen, Muse (Invincible), Radiohead and Santana (in the same track!), Radiohead again, and Skrillex (the only dubstep artist I know off the top of my head). What a mess.
