An Evening with the Hip @ the "KEE"
#76

That's how they did it for the Commodore May 24th, 2006 show. Everyone had to wait in will call line to get tix, It went really quick for sure probably 10 minute wait or so.

It will be a bit of a line at the Kee, still not sure where they are going to set it all up but should be good times.

Also Wendal, just so you know Wendel Clark just bought property up in Muskoka in the past month or so I believe. My dad ran into at the Liquor Store the other week.

The S'kool bus is great way to travel from Port Carling to Bala.

Still looking for a Thursday night Ticket if anyone can help me out.
Place to crash, beer, Buds - let me know

Just thought I would post this for everyone incase someone missed it:

Hello Kee To Bala ticket holders,

If you are receiving this email, you are one of the lucky few who were able to purchase tickets to our special 'thehip.com presents' performances.

We want to take the time to remind everyone of the ticket policy in effect for these two shows.

1) This will be a ticket-less show. No hard tickets have been sent out prior to the show dates. Wristbands will be issued the night of the performance.

2) All wristbands are to be picked up from the venue's box office, the evening of each performance. The Kee To Bala Box Office opens at 7:00pm

3) There are no In/Out privileges for these shows. Once you visit the box office and claim your wristband, you are required to enter the venue.

3) The individual who purchased the tickets, must show photo ID and the Credit Card used to purchase the tickets on maplemusic.com.

4) All people in the purchaser's party MUST be present at time of pick-up.
For example, if you purchased four tickets, you and the other three people attending with you must be present at the box office when you claim your wristbands. Please do not enter the lineup without everyone present

5) Tickets are non-transferable.

There will be no exceptions to any and all of these rules. These rules are the same as the rules that all purchasers had to agree to at the time of purchase on www.maplemusic.com

The rules are instituted for you, the fans, so that tickets do not end up in the hands of ticket resellers.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Kee.

- The Hip

Its also a 19+ event, so if you look/are young remember to bring your ID with you!

I remember being at Molson Park once and not being able to accompany my friends in the beer garden since I thought I was smart to leave my ID in the car where I would not lose it. Sober at a concert is a bummer...

No it isn't. But the prevailing attitude of late that one can't possibly go to a concert without subjecting themselves to some form of intoxication is.

Now that I read your comment I realize the error of mine - the particular one that I forgot the ID was Edgefest in 2000 and I did not know many of the bands' songs. That makes it kind of hard to get into it, you know?

Went to both Molson Amphitheatre hip shows during the Violet Light tour and was absolutely dead sober for both and had a blast.
Went to the July 1st Amphitheatre show a few years ago and was completely blasted - also had fun.
It is, however, nice to remember all the details from a concert the next day.

I'm not sure if you meant to be condescending or not, but it sort of appears that way. Do you mean to tell me that only lately people have started to want to be a little loopy for a rock show? Whether I'm at a concert or a backyard BBQ, I just find that a couple beers allows me to feel a little more comfortable and enjoy myself, aside from being refreshing and delicious. One doesn't NEED to drink, but some people like it. Tell you what - I'll buy you a beer at the show on Thursday!

In my experience, there have always been people going to shows and having a few drinks, myself included. But it seems that lately there is an attitude of, "I can't possibly go to the show without getting completely hammered!" or "If I can't get stoned, I can't enjoy myself!"

A couple of wobbly pops to refresh and relax is not the issue; people getting intoxicated (booze, drugs or both) to a point where their actions impact others is unacceptable and lately there are more and more tales of this sort of thing. When I read your post, I got the impression that you were one of the people who just have to get drunk to have fun at a show. That's all.

I'm only heading to the Wednesday show, or else I'd probably take you up on that beer. Probably. Smile

I tlaked with the manager of the Kee and they are suppose to go on at 9pm, but I have a feeling that getting in will delay this. Hopefully the Hip and mpale Music has organzied how to get tickets because the Kee has never had a big ticketless event.

I think I am going to go to Bala this afternoon to try to hear soundcheck. You can usually hear really well from outside.

It just stoped raining up here so hopefully it doesn't start up again.
If anyone needs a ride on the school bus you can call the bus at 705-644-9515 I know there is a run from Port Carling to Bala for sure.

Looking forward to tonight, I couldn't even sleep!
