Actually no, but I do prefer music that has a positive, feel-good vibe...these lyrics sound like a suicide letter, not something I want to be listening to.

Well did you know that PJ was influenced by KISS? There's definitely some deep lyrics coming out of that band for sure

PJ was influenced by The Who and Neil Young mainly...yeah..those 2 bands really suck...neil young could never write lyrics as heavy and deep as Def Leppard...good to see that you realized right away how stupid your nirvana comment was

well to me, PJ and Nirvana both have a sloppy, similar sound...you can't disagree with me there. And I'm sure they got some ideas from each other along the way.
To me, Def Leppard are a good band - top 15 for sure in my books. Live, they are even better - top 5 for sure. But since nothing is going to come from all of this in terms of changing our views on both of the bands, I think I've had enough. So, thank you for giving me the opportunity to get my post count up.

Wow. Just when I think your posts can't get any more idiotic, you keep on topping yourself. Well done! It's obvious you've never listened to either one of those bands. PJ and Nirvana may have came out of the same city/scene, but that's where the similarities end. Musically they couldn't be any more different.

There is nothing "sloppy" about Pearl Jam, especially in comparison to Nirvana...
Nirvana had a very raw punk feel to them, fused with Sabbatherian grooves, along with one of the wildest most unpredictable frontmen since Iggy Pop...their lyrics were for the most part a psychotic self-portrait of Kurt...
Pearl Jam are a hell of a lot more of a traditional hard rock band (with more of a storyteller/folkish/socially-concious lyrical approach), sure they've tinkered with their sound and experimented with different things through the years, but what good band hasn't (Def Leppard maybe? because they suck...I will acknowledge that their are a few bands out there that have had great success and results by sticking to the formula: AC/DC and The Ramones most notably)...Pearl Jam have more to do with artists like Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and U2 than they do with "slopppy grunge" music...
ps: grunge never existed...it was just a media buzzword...but i take it you've probably never seen "Hype!"...maybe you should rent it...you might learn something.

ok i'll admit i listened to def leppard in the 80's(i was young), but pearl jam personally wiped that decade clean, i mean like a bad date...just picked up their new album, and it fucking rocks! i'll take a little grit over them glam anytime...
