Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is from my area, though I've not seen them yet. The get lots of air play on XPN (88.5) in Philly. Great band.
Big second on Gomez. Got into them with "Far Away". They are playing the same night as The Hip at Sasquach. Was at Tipitina's in N.O.L.A. for JazzFest and Gomez was playing across the street at The House Of Blues. My friend said they were fantastic. I saw MoFro that night...quite the swamp funk band out of Florida.
Of course, if their was one band that I'd want everyone to go and listen to, it would be Government Mule. Mule tore it up over New Year's at The Beacon in NYC. Dancin' girls and all.
