i want to punch whoever has forsberg. god damn hat trick. and pat lalime played stellar but had his bid for a shutout ruined 32 seconds into the game. every day i bounce from 8 to 9 and back. i have some pretty good players, i can't figure out how my points aren't adding up!!

fair enough...but not being in last place isn't quite good enough for me...so I have been wondering a few things

do you only get credit for the points a player gets while on your team, or do you get all the points he brings with him? so if i pick up different defenceman because none of mine are playing tonight, do I keep the points the other gathered and only gain the points the new ones get while on my team?

I have been trying to get this for the longest time. If you only get crddit for the points players get while on your team, it is worth adding & dropping players who are playing each night for ones who aren't. But if you get all of a player's points when you pick them up and lose all the ones of a players you drop, there is no point in doing that each night. Help me out!!

How about this: I don't think the Flyers are gonna be nearly as good as the expert media is hyping. I mean people want to make fun of the Leafs for the risky Allison signing, well how about Forsberg? Of the last three NHL season he's averaged 38 games played. He suffered major injuries in the frickin Swedish Elite League last season. And he's going to be eating up $5.75 million in cap space versus the $1.5 that Allison will chew up.

Derian Hatcher is a bum. He's a big, slow oaf and the Flames exposed him as being a big, slow oaf. How is a big, slow oaf going to be of any value with the new rules?

Lastly, they have 13 players signed to $28.2 MM for '05/06. That means they have a whopping $9.8 million left to sign 11 players, and they haven't even signed Gagne or Esche yet. If each of those guys gets around $3 million, that leaves about $422K for each of the nine players they'll still need to sign, which is BELOW the minimum set by the CBA.

In other words, I think the Genius Bob Clarke has really backed himself into a corner and he's going to be hard pressed to fill out the rest of his roster with bona-fide NHLers.

With or without the injuries, Forsberg is still the best in the game! He's got a good 2 years left, maybe more. I'd take him anyday over Allison or any other free agent that was on the market. When Philly had a shot at him they had to take it...they would be crazy to turn it down.

It doesn't matter how good you are if you can't play because you are hurt. And with a salary cap in place now, injuries are even more costly.
