everyone is feeling the pinch these days , to some degree
for me ...at least they are playing close (with options for multiple dates , which is great)
unfortunately a road trip to see them elsewhere is not in the cards this year

The Detroit show only had tickets on sale with the CD package included. Hence, if I wanted presale tickets, I was forced to take the deal.

Crazy man.
The shows I went for had it as a separate line item.
Unfortunately, it didn't work at the time and I couldn't get one - even though I probably would have taken it.

This is unbelieveable...The best Ticketbastard can do for me is row 19? Or a loge seat? I want to f*$*#n party, not sit on the side with my spectacle glasses.
Convenience charge? 11.25...making it the most expensive convenience charge I have ever paid. Even Bob Dylan wasnt this bad.
Is this one of those things where the presale tickets blow, and you actually get better seats if you're on as soon as tickets go on sale to the masses? I just went through this with the Weakerthans, presale the best I could do was row 5, but next morning, row 1 baby.

I'd likely do all three Ottawa shows -- instead just went with one, but will hopefully catch a club show in the US in the fall/winter.

I don't understand the complaints. This is actually the cheapest concert I have tickets to in the next couple of months and will probably be the best for me.
For pair of tickets with all charges
Willie Nelson April 8th at Massey $224 or $112 each
Fleetwood Mac March 26 at ACC $340 or $170 each (seats suck too)
For 4 tickets with all Charges
The Tragically Hip $332 or $83 each
and the Hip are playing right here in Kitchener too, no drive for me. Bargain!!!!!!!!

Speaking of price...
I remember seeing a Hip show for Free in Central Park one July 1st a few years back.
More then price I'm concerned about the set lists getting mixed up enough.
I recall last tour really not changing it up enough.
So I can deal with the price hike but if it is a carbon copy setlist price will be back in play.

That's what's holding me back from more than one night in Ottawa -- how many songs are they going out on the road with, can they mix up set lists enough to make it worthwhile?

You're right I remember those evening's with shows and they were nothing less then spectacular and they did pull gem after gem out night after night.
The way the tour is this year I will be seeing them four times in a about a week.
I hope Gord will be earning his money by brushing up on the old Lyrics he sometimes hesitates with.

If they do 30 songs and you end up paying 65 bucks for the ticket it comes out to like $2.16 a song.

Tickets were not too bad in Victoria, 69$ a seat. But I guess an arena is a different atmosphere than the theatres anyways.

If I were living in Toronto I'd have aimed for Massey Hall #1 and #5 and Kingston; as it is, being in Calgary I got Banff and Calgary #1 and #2, so I was probably hitting three shows this tour either way. It's a lot of money, but for the chance to see the Hip at the Banff Centre and at a venue that's within walking distance I'll gladly pay it. I saw eight shows last tour, though, so the price is holding me back slightly.
