The "Sold Out" is already posted on TheHip.com. Got tickets for both nights and trying to get a room at the Bala Bay Inn.
If anyone is doing the vacation thing in Muskoka the Mariposa Folk Festival is July 6,7,8. It's in Orillia and the bill includes The Sadies and Gordon Lightfoot. Maybe Gord D. shows up to sing with Gord L.

I have always wanted to see a band cover Okie from Muskogee at the Kee. I know it's not exactily about Muskoka but it's a great song
Haggard Merle - Okie from Muskogee
We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
We don't take our trips on LSD
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street;
We like livin' right, and bein' free.
I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all
We don't make a party out of lovin';
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo;
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy,
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do.
And I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball.
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all.
Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear;
Beads and Roman sandals won't be seen.
Football's still the roughest thing on campus,
And the kids here still respect the college dean.
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
In Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA.
Go here to hear some version - http://www.sendspace.com/file/3do3na
the first is 3 song version of it with Merle singing it live in 1999
The 2nd version (my favorite) is the Beach Boys singing with Grateful Dead playing from a 1971 Fillmore Show
Man it would be great if they rocked this out.

About 30 minutes ago I went to book a room at the Bala Bay in, it came to $99 ... the same room is now $198.69. I called the hotel and they confirmed that prices have doubled

They jacked up the prices for that night. There website says it's $79 mid week up to $169 and they are charging $179 for a Wednesday night.
I was able to book a room at the Bala Bay Inn. All they have left is standar rooms so act fast.

I also got a room at the Bala Inn. Will be there two nights so it won't be cheap. I can go to a five star hotel in Ottawa for that amount. Oh well, sometimes ya just have to bite the bullet. And, of course, we won't have to worry about driving drunk, finding a cab, finding a shuttle or walking 5 kms.
55 days and counting

If anyone has two extras for Thursday you can crash at my cottage, it's in Port Carling which is 20 minutes & I have transportation.
I also have a draft machine in the basement with all the Creemore you can drink!!
Also the public beach is great to swim as well as the falls.
Really cool Train Bridge to jump off as well.
Bala is where Lake Muskoka meets the Moon River and there are great falls to wade around in. I am going to draft up an all you need to know guide about the area this weekend
