And what are the details for us that can't get it?
Cost?
Do they come with Covers/Jackets?
Are they only 128kbits?

99 cents a tune or 9.90 for the lot.
looks like there's a cover
128 kbits

it sounds fine to me, I just dont' get this DRM stuff, any care to educate me this early in the AM?

At it's simpliest point, DRM will only allow you to install and listen to those songs on 5 (I believe it is five) machines. After that, your screwed. It is to prevent the sharing of those songs with your friends...

blah blah blah

That's bullshit. :x I wouldn't use this service either. Nobody can tell me how many copies of a tune I can make. Whether personal or for friends.

You can make as many copies as you want - it's just illegal. Just like it is illegal to copy and distribute CDs that you purchase at your local retailer. All you have to do is get one of the many programs out there that strip the DRM from the file and you're good to go.

So what if you just burn those songs to a CD from the Itunes cd burner, then can't you do whatever you want with said tunes?

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

The only time i have issues with DRM and other copy protected cds is when I burn cds I purchased which i use in the car to preventing damaged to the original cd and packing. Usually a simple wave editor will do the trick

For anyone wondering about DRM, it's the backwards thinking music industry's attempt to screw you over and kick you in the face whenever they feel like it. It doesn't stop file sharing, it limits your rights as a consumer and generally is a complete pain in the ass by pissing off people who actually BUY music.

It's ridiculous, and will only further the music industry's plight. I was very tempted to not buy these live recordings even though it's the Hip and it's great stuff because I think DRM is a slap in the face to fans of any band.

I don't notice THAT much of a difference in the sound quality from the iTunes store and thehip.com. They quality sounds pretty much the same as today's Ahead By A Century if you ask me. Maybe I'm crazy though, who knows. All I can say is its that the ten songs picked for Volume 1 are a great mix. Definetly appealing to your more than average fan. A great balance between hits and rarities.

What a great version of Inevitability Of Death.

The SOTD is at 128k, too. It's just that a few of us are audio nerds who want our FLACs, damnit,

Really? That's a good encoding job you've done, then.

Select all of the tracks and drag 'em over to the pane on the left. This gives you a "playlist" of the album. Select the playlist. Click on File, then Print. You'll get a bunch of different printing options. Select the one you want, then go.

Failing that, try the iTunes Help feature.

Would it be possible to get them in Apples Lossless codec instead of 128bit? Not sure if that can have DRM on it.
