Valentine's Day
#31

My Postings At Work Wrote:I only WISH Mr. MP@W would quote me Hip! Alas, his geekiness knows other depths... that of the DnD variety. *shrug*

I at one point was lucky enough to have a boy who played DnD and quoted the hip. Geekiness was never so lovely.

On Flamenco...I think it's wonderfull charming and apt...if someone were to whisper, "maybe a prostitute could teach you how to take a compliment" I'd probably melt and cry all at once.

Well, I did mail a special Valentine's Day card to a special little lady in my life... my 2-month old niece! (ha!) I'm sure her mother/my sister will love it.

Otherwise, yeah, V-day pretty much sucks for me right now. Oh well...

This will be an especially nice Valentine's Day for the two of us as it will be our first one being engaged. I popped the question on Christmas Day and I got a YES...I did it on the couch in my housecoat after she got to the bottom of her Christmas stocking where the ring was hiding ou...how's that for romantic!!!

I feel like I should post a few pics on here as well as I'm rather proud of my gal too!!!

Happy Valentines Day,

Stephen Dame Wrote:Okay, too weird... and a great example of my psychosis. I shit you not. Last night. Dancing in her apartment. Singing Flamenco to her softly since the computer/CD player's busted.

I did get a joking "what the hell?" when that line came up. Smile But the beauty of Gord's "...rivulets" and "weave the sun..." lyrics make it a winner with the ladies.
Dame... keep this girl around. Save for my current girlfriend, had I danced and sang Flamenco softly to a girl, she'd definitely say, "What the hell..." followed by "am I doing with a loser like you?!?!"

Congratulations buddy!

For me, my girlfriend is coming over and cooking me dinner. After that we'll watch Scrubs and call it a night! We made a decision not to buy gifts or spend any money on Valentine's as we are taking two trips to Europe this year - Italy in May; Scotland in October - and have decided that our money will be better spent then.

On behalf of all the single folks here at the Hipbase, I'd just like to say that y'all make me wanna vomit. F**k Valentine's Day.

(Stephen- all kidding aside, you got yourself a keeper there. Nice work, dude! And yeah, I'm happy for the rest of you clowns too, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda...whatever)

Aww, why'd you kill the mystery? I'd gotten used to pretending you were really Robert Goulet, just chillin' on a Tragically Hip forum for some reason.

LAME STORY ALERT!!

My girlfriend and I met on the henhouse mailing list about 5 years ago, finally together. We're not going out tomorrow night, she's actually going home to her parents place. However if she was staying I doubt we'd do anything either. There's no way in hell I'm spending the night in a packed restaurant where you can't even hear eachother talk.

If you do not mind me asking - who did you hit it off with over at The Henhouse?

Happy happy and merry merry to all the coupled folk out there. I'll swallow my bitterness for a moment and wish you all the best. :thumb: Now if you'll excuse me, I have an appointment with my stat class. Ain't *that* romantic?

You know, usually on holidays that people go nutty over (Christmas, Canada Day, Victoria Day, Herb Tarlek Day, etc), I'll be jaded and quote GD: "It's not a birthday for everyone you know." Today, I'm trying really hard to come up with that great smart ass line and it's just not coming to me.

Hope everyone who's not doing anything tonight will find someone to waste their time with over any one of the next 364 nights.

Cheers

Pat

Nice work Goulet! Congrats.

Here's a pic of my wife. We've been married and remarried a few times and we've certainly had our rough patches, but dammit, we're still together after all these years. That's saying something!

Sorry to ruin it for you Greg...alas, I am not the World-Famous crooner...just his illegitimate love child from a steamy night at the Flamingo back in late '77.
