well ive just watched 8 straight hours of political coverage and all i can say is that i am ashamed that people in this goddamn country are still voting for George Bush. I dont know about all this voting conspiracy bullshit but i was watching a Political documentary on HBO where this woman followed all the candidates for 2 years.. last summer she attended a party on the white house lawn and one or the republicans there said that the election " was all over but the counting, and we'll take care of the counting" That doesnt sound like a very up and up thing to say especially after the debacle of 2000

I hear ya. There's no doubt in my mind that people's religious values played a huge role in this election. I also find it incredibly sad that the American public has chosen to ignore virtually all of the evidence that has been brought up against the Bush administration over the past year or so. Specifically the fact that he went on national TV and completely LIED to the world community about his reasons for invading Iraq. I know it's not over yet, but as of right now it looks like they're gonna vote him right back into a presidency that he never won in the first place. I've been absolutely disgusted by this entire fiasco ever since 2000, and many of my American friends (who all voted for Kerry today) are disgusted as well. In any other country Kerry would be winning this thing by a landslide. I just don't get it.

What I don't get, to echo a different point of DH's, is why OHIO, specifically, would give Bush the win. I don't get it. Ohio is a working-class, perfectly middle-class midwestern state with a heavily industrial influence. Why would these people, who stand to gain the least from Bush's tax cuts at the mind-boggling expense of the nation, and who have seen so many lost jobs over the past four years, vote for Bush??? What is going through their minds?? To put it differently, after everything that's happened, just what WOULD it take for them to vote Bush out?

As for me, I'm already gearing up to bash the United States government and the 50% of fools who support it for another four years. Bush won this one. Let's not kid ourselves. A 140,000 vote lead in Ohio? That's not going anywhere anytime soon. I'm also prepared to spend another four years grinding my teeth every time Rumsfeld, Ridge, Asscroft or Condoleezza Rice open their mouths. I may just have to stop watching TV in order to ensure I don't accidentally get a peek at Rumsfeld's cringing sneer, Rice's rabid rat look, or Asscroft's Droopy the Dwarf impression. Lies, lies and more lies add up to a convincing win for these clowns. Go figure.

Oh yeah, did anybody else notice this? Now I'm REALLY stumped as to the Republicans' success...I would say the next four years are going to even harder on us (by "us" I mean citizens of planet Earth) because now Bush has everything goddamn thing he needs to run away with his agenda).

Ditto, amazing what propaganda, lies, and deceit in the name of greed, power and radical Idealism can do to the uneducated, ignorant, extremely patriotic and devoutly religious. It can get you re-elected.

Why not? It's over. There is no logic in waiting to see if Kerry wins 135,000 of the 180,000 provisional ballots yet to be counted here in Ohio when he already has carried a majority of the ballots counted statewide. It's called "the writing on the wall".

I thought Kerry might avoid the crybaby antics of Gore in 2000, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case.....

Kerry would have been a lame-duck if he had won, so I suppose it's good that he didn't. I think four more years will provide enough rope for "dubya" to hang himself, if America doesn't wake up and impeach him before his term is up.

In any event, 2008 will be an historical event in American history; President Clinton will return to White House, and this time she will have been elected! :lol:

George Bush is pimping America to fill his pockets and those of his good-ole boy pals! He bought the election in 2000, he bought this one, and I sincerely ache for anyone with draft-age children cause he will pimp out your sons and daughters to fight his holy war.

If the Republicans are so sure of themselves, what does it matter whether John Kerry concedes immediately or waits a couple days?
The whole tactic is based on harrassing Kerry into conceding as soon as possible so people won't raise doubts or questions about the voting process and its outcome.

Good point - it's a shame though that so many Americans need an additional four years to see what is already blatantly obvious to the rest of the world.

Be assured that Kerry will never concede in response to 'harrassment'. That's just silly. He will concede, though, because he lost. So why not avoid the frickin circus we had in 2000 by just stepping aside with civility and grace?

Yeah it's hard to watch, from a Canadian standpoint..Americans like War..and you can disagree all you want, but it's true..and if you can't see it, you need to leave the country to do so. Your own family members are still being killed on a daily basis over in Iraq..and why? Because George W has to finish off what his dad started. You've got Saddam, found no weapons of mass destruction..but due to your ego..you've got to stay there and waste millions of dollars a week on nothing. Let them rebuild their own country, and bring your troops home.

UGGH!! Well, it looks like it is over. It truly amazes me how many Americans have a blindfold over their eyes. It all comes down to religious values and fear for who they voted for. I don't even know what to say, I am so annoyed right now :x :nooooo
