It is funny how I see you at almost every concert, Bills game, Sabres game I go to. Probably because that stuff is the most fun you can have around here in Buffalo. Well I suppose you could go to the waterfront and play in the weeds of the Bethlehem Steel parking lot!! Gotta love this place, plus it is close to cities who get a lot of big acts, TO, Clev, Roch, Pittsburgh, etc..
I would love to get a copy of that OAR show for sure. That was a great show! I am hopefully going to see them in Orlando at House of Blues Aug 19th when I am down there. Can't wait for that one!

1) Ben Harper - I didn't even like most of his music before I went to the show just because I had a week long past to the Bluesfest, but I came away loving the shows. This would probably be the best "surprise" to ever come out of a concert I didn't think I was going to be crazy about.
2) Kate Fenner & Chris Brown - Kate's voice is incredible on the albums, but it's a wonder to behold live. I always wondered how she got such a big sound out of that tiny body, and it was pretty cool to watch her practically folding down to her knees from sheer exertion and lack of breath after holding the big notes!
3) Big Sugar - I was crushed when they announced they were breaking up, and I saw why at their show...there were less than 100 people there at the start on a Friday night with great weather when there was no reason fans wouldn't have come. It was only $10 and I got to see THE TREWS open for them! Maybe by the end there were closer to 200 people, but it was still an embarassingly small crowd. Killer show, though...my eardrums were literally rattling as I stood stageside.

Yup... Gordie wanted to try new things. Last I heard (but I'm not in any special loop so this might have changed!) he was going down to Texas to play with the guys from Double Trouble. Not a bad musical melange, if I do say so myself. He's also going to be recording either a solo album or an album of songs he wrote but give himself a new "band name"...not sure when though.
You gotta admit, after over a decade of playing and a dozen radio hits, if you can only attract 200 people to a licensed show at a university with publicity all over town on a warm Friday night, you've run aground and are closer to the end of your career than the beginning. Unfortunate but I look forward to whatever Gordie has on tap.
