umm yeah, blast away.

What is wrong with bands who are used as CanCon? It's not their fault that radio program directors choose to oversaturate their songs. There would be more variety but as you should know, what is popular is only what gets played.

I say the Spades. They're great live and could use the exposure. Sarah, Sam and Hawksley don't need it.

I really am going to have to broaden my horizons...
out of the three pages of posts so far, I figure I recognise 4 names mentioned, and have heard music by only one.
And it gets worse, that one was Van Halen

Still picking up the elderly from the floor, still dealing with the drunks, now wrestling seals and posting it on twitter.. @richardilderton
'Whoops' is not a word the patient wants to hear...apparently

Saw the spades(<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.thespades.ca">www.thespades.ca</a><!-- w -->) last night in Ivy Lea(1000 islands) about 40 mins away from kingston in attendence was Paul langlois and Johnny Fay- w/ about 300+ other people-- they seemed to be having a good time -- Pretty hard to say who will open but if you go to <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.slfa.com(">www.slfa.com(</a><!-- w --> the bands agency) and look at their roster it will be one of those bands most likely-----

I can see the Spades, and based on what I've heard it would be a solid show. Sarah Harmer would also be a nice touch, she opened for the Hip last time they came to Ottawa. But I would kill to see Blues Traveler. I've never seen them, and am not even quite sure if they still exist as a 'band'. But for the Ottawa Bluesfest the opening act is already announced. "Los Mocosos"... apparently a funk/ska/reggae sounding band. Huh, should be an interesting show.

Yop BT is still rockin in tha Free World. You should check their site, they got some free Mp3's up for grabbzz...but ya it be great to see that dynamic duo team up again.....

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Hope this helps. On June 3, the Spades are playing the Rivoli with the Rude Mechanicals. Then they begin a series of shows at the 360 Club in Toronto, each show featuring the Spades and guests. The first one is June 6 (8:00 pm.) with James Grey of Blue Rodeo, as well as Steve Ketchen and the Kensington Hillbillys. They will also be playing with Matt Mays in Kingston on June 16 and will be part of the Indie Showcase at the Lakes Alive Festival, Cambridge, on June 20. Good luck with the horizon thing. If this is who the Hip are listening to, you won't go too far wrong. :thumb:
