I really dig this album. It's got a real urgency to it. You're Everywhere - great. Nashville -very nice and I love the message. Heaven is a rocking opener and a great memory of Dan Snyder. Are We Family is a pretty delicate thing. Goodnight Josephine is another really nice track. Of course Vaccination Scar rocks and what a great lyric about the bridge. The only ones I'm not crazy about are Gus and Summer. Song for song, one of my fave Hip albums.

I looove Gus, and I also like 'Summer,' although I understand that the clattering madness of that bizarre number may not be to everyone's taste. 'heaven' is one I have no time for, though.
Be specific songs aside, I totally agree with FourPistols. This is a terrific album, one of their best, and I regret that I seem to be in a tiny minority of Hip fans in that assessment.

This album never quite did it for me. That being said, I have a feeling I'm gonna be revisiting all of the Hip's/Gord's work over the next while, and perhaps re-examining the albums I didn't like. I love Adam Kasper's raw production, but I just didn't think the songs were there and I thought the band was kinda spinning their wheels a bit. There are however a few standouts. Gus, Vaccination Scar, Nashville, If New Orleans is Beat, You're Everywhere, and Are We Family are all pretty damn great.

Gus, Scar, and Beat are all very good. But Josephine is fantastic.

I never understood why this album didn't get the love it should have.
To me its their second best behind DFN.
It captures the sound of the hip. Live off the floor. I love it so much.

Gord D is at his sharpest lyrically and his most impassioned vocally. What's not to like??
