It has to be said.. the reffing in that game was absolutely fucking atrocious.. The call on Hamrlik was a joke, the call on Kovalev in the third for high sticking was a joke, Chara skated into Kovalev's stick, and there were a ton of non-calls that were clearly penalties. Also, and this goes against both teams, if you're gonna call a dive why call a coincidental penalty.. if the guy was diving obviously the other guy didn't commit a real offense. The reffing in the entire playoffs have been disgraceful. That goalie interference penalty that negated the Dallas goal earlier tonight was one of the worst calls I've ever seen, and the goalie interference call on Washington when the Washington player was pushed hard into Biron was terrible as well. Its a shame that series' are being determined by the boneheads in stripes.

On the call against Kovalev, I don't think Chara actually contacted his stick -- he just saw the stick go up and thought he'd try for a penalty. Oh well, so it goes....

The sickening thing about that game was watching Price let in three weak ones. That error really blew his confidence. You could see on the fifth goal that he wasn't concentrating at all.

BUT ... have no fear, next game HNIC will be blabbering on about how the Bruins found their offence and exploded for five goals, yadda, yadda, yadda ... hey, let's talk about Savard some more....

I take responsibility for the jinx on tonight's game, anyway. And I'm going to hear about it all day tomorrow.

Disapointing loss, after getting off to a good start, and Price playing so well for most of the game...can't really blame it on him though, because you can't expect to win too many hockey games scoring only 1 goal...they got away with it in game 4, but you're not gonna go very far like that...

I think it'll be good to get out of Montreal, even though the pressure will still be on, i think they'll be able to focus more on the task at hand in Boston without all the craziness of Montreal distracting them.


And last, but not least, they NEED Koivu back ASAP, they're finally starting to look kind of weak without him. It's painfully obvious on the PP, and just in geneal, They can't seem to sustain pressure, or a high level of play for that long, and they're lacking the intensity and grit that he brings to the table every shift...Begin is somewhat similar, but obviously, he's know where near the player that Saku is...

Higgins, Plezcanek, Markov, and Latendresse all need to step it up too, none of them are playing as well as they did in the regular season.

I agree about the idea about dives. If you call a diving penalty, you shouldn't put the other guy in the box for a trip, hook, ....whatever. It's funny because the dives are so blatant that I can only assume that the refs just pick and choose when they call them. ie..>Mike Richards took a blatant dive to draw an interference penalty last night. The correct call would have been to call a dive on Richards, but the referee made the 100% incorrect call.
