As some of you may know, I went to see Nine Inch Nails at Brixton Academy last night! I've never seen them before, but they completely blew me away! It was totally nuts! Trent was jumping in the crowd, and the other members were trashing the stage and running about like nutters! 8) Highly entertaining, and the aesthetic was really dark and sinister - which matched the music perfectly. We were quite fortunate really as Trent had to cancel the previous show in Birmingham due to his voice being strained - He seemed to have made a full recovery though.

Saw the Trews about a month ago at a small bar in Brantford and again at the McMaster University bar a few weeks later, both shows were really good. The McMaster show was all acoustic and the drummer played a bongo for most of the show which was pretty cool. They also did some pretty cool covers of When the Levee Breaks, Rock and Roll, Whole Lotta Love, Second Hand News and a few others that I can't think of right now.
And I saw Hawksley Workman in Guelph at the River Run Centre about 2 weeks ago. The show was amazing, just him playing guitar and a guy with him playing a grand piano. I would definately see him live again.

Saw Interpol last night in Kitchener...What a fucking waste of time...The opening band came on way too late, and they were a joke...A dude who made Edge-like sounds on his guitar and a girl who just wants t'be Karen O...Finally, after an elongated delay, Interpol appears, as unenthusiastically as possible...They went through the motions, phoned about eight songs in, before some serious technical problems...The lead singer just sorta gave up, left the stage...One guitarist apologized and told us if they could fix it, they'd try t'come back...Sure enough, after another half an hour, they appeared, to play maybe three more tracks...They walked off again, although we were left t'assume it was just an encore break...After 20 minutes of keeping the house lights off, while we stood there like morons, the roadies finally came out and began to take apart the microphones...What the shit.
I know bands have off nights...But when you couple that with what seemed t'be a total lack of desire t'be there, you have t'wonder what you paid $30 for...On top of all that, during our many smoke breaks, we noticed the band kept their goddamn tour bus idling the whole night, burning a much bigger hole in the sky than there is now in my pocket...So anyway.
Anybody else got any concert horror stories?

That's awful! I don't have any concert horror stories like that, but I'm sure in the future I will.
The day before St. Patrick's Day I went to go see The Junction here in Halifax on the night of one of the worst storms of the year.
Small crowd, but what an awesome show!
In May I'm going to see B.B. King, so I'm stoked for that!

Where is BB King playing? I'd love to see him. Aerosmith in July is the only concert i have planned as of yet, hopefully the Festival of Lights, depending on who plays this year. I'd love to see the Hip too on one of their Maritimes dates, but i'll have to wait & see.

B.B. is playing at Harbour Station in Saint John on May 19th.

Last night I saw Collective Soul play in Kitchener at Elements Nightclub.. this was a tremendous show. I'm not sure if too many people around here are fans of them but they know how to put on a great live perfomrance. The show was high energy and Ed was really into it. This was the firt time I've ever seen them live and I would definately go again.
I found it funny how Ed mocked the fact that they had to play all of their hits when he mentioned close to the start of the show in a half joking/sarcastic tone "Don't worry we're gonna play all the songs you want to hear, but right now we'd like to play some older songs that we don't play very much." Then at one point he said he was "calling an audible" and added a rare song 'Goodnight Goodguy' to the set right off the cuff. After they came out for the encore someone yelled out SHINE!, and Ed commented "don't worry we're gonna play Shine.. we haven't forgotten about it."
I appreciated the fact that they recognized that half of the poeple there only wanted to hear the hits yet they still pandered to the hardcore fans by playing some older obscure songs as well.
However, the show was great. He has such powerful vocals. Definitely a very good live performer.
