according to Rolling stone magazine the Who are gearing up for a tour and have been jammin ' in London for a few weeks now. After the tour they are going to record a new album.

when i heard the hip rumour linked to this show i kind of brushed it off like yeah right, it's just because they played the stones gig last sept

a quick look at the hip's tour dates reveals they dont have anything scheduled beyond sept. 15th :wink:

Hey, Haligonians...update us. So the Stones concert was announced today (Sept. 23). I hear that the tickets went on sale yesterday. Who else is on the bill?

Oops. :oops: Sorry, I guess I misunderstood the news story. I was actually wondering why tickets would go onsale a day before the concert was announced. Haha! Chalk that one up to a blonde moment. :wink:

Stones are coming to Halifax yes, but unfortunately The Who are not. The most recent rumors i heard on the openers had Great Big Sea, Sloan, and Nickelback...but then during the announcement of the North American tour, the Stones stated that for each show they will have "young, contemporary opening acts"...so i guess we'll just have to wait & see. According to their website the openers will be announced shortly.

You know, maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine the alternate universe in which Great Big Sea would open for the Rolling Stones. Really. I can't.

I asked her when I went back to work (was home on lunch for my previous post)

She said it was on the radio today and that they were the only confirmed opening act...

If she was listening to the local radio station (99.3 The River)
Now, if they were to tell me it was currently raining outside, the only way I would believe it is to go see for myself :roll:

Hopefully there is truth to this, but I would have assumed there would be something on the internet confirming this by now if this was the case (especially on here, thehip.com or the Rolling Stones website...)

If it is I know what i'll be Saturday (booking time off work) and Monday (ordering Hip tickets on my birthday) :thumb:
