Rolling Stones in Halifax
#1

It looks like it's a done deal that the Rolling Stones will play Halifax Common on Saturday, September 23rd. So far i've heard two rumors...they are as follows:

The Tragically Hip
The Who
The Rolling Stones

Great Big Sea
Nickelback
The Who
The Rolling Stones

Anyone else have any information on the Stones in Halifax?

Oooh, me too...I'll take any excuse to go home. I really miss the "concert(s) on the hill". I've never experienced a venue quite like it anywhere else.

Definitely keep us posted please!

The Hip again??

I heard from an Alexander Keith's rep (who is getting the beer contract for the show) that it's the Stones, the Who, and Aerosmith... and tickets will be $135 each.

Where did you hear your rumors Ryan?

I think the hip is just wishful thinking. Won't happen.

I believe the concert is going to be at The Commons, and not on Citidal Hill. The Commons is a very flat venue as opposed to the Hill which is more of a natural amphitheatre. Too bad, the Hill is a nicer place to watch a show - perhaps it is a capacity issue.

I don't think the Aerosmith rumor is true, they are in NJ that night.

The Who? Seriously?

This proposed lineup just makes me giggle:

Great Big Sea
Nickelback
The Who
The Rolling Stones

It's like someone playing two different ipods on shuffle,

Yes it is going to be at Halifax Common (if it does indeed happen). The two rumored line-ups i mentioned i read on C103's website. Aerosmith has been brought up many times, the only thing is they play in New Jersey (with Motley Crue) that night...though i suppose if they were the 1st band on that day they might still be able to make it back to Jersey. Either way, it looks like The Who & The Stones.

The Rolling Stones and the Who--a.k.a. the greatest band on the planet--on the same stage?

Confusedhock:

Seriously, I'm speechless. Halifax ho.

one more thought.... my bet is that it is The Guess Who and not The Who.

I thought they could not use the name THe Guess Who, because they were being sued by a former member, can anyone shed some light on this for me. Maybe it is The Who.

they aren't using the name Guess Who, officially. but everyone still calls them that.
