They do. What Bob Rock did to their sound doesn't.
NMAS Wrote:I think it is good that they are breaking out of there two year routine. It wouldn't bother me if we didn't see an album until Chritsmas. The fan base has shrunk, they need to make the general fan really get the urge for some new Hip material. A longer break may creat more anticipation from the general public.

Littleproud Wrote:it sounds like Bob gave them more than just a once over. I remember hanging with Gord, Gordon and Paul in Vancouver when they first started recording with him, and it looked like they had just been put through the ringer. They told me it was breathing new life into the band, which was exciting to hear.
sean.bonner Wrote:...and is it just me? Or did a box set with a two cd compilation, a bonus feature dvd, and a Concert DVD come out in November? That easily makes up for a late release.
tigerthelion Wrote:it will be out when it's out. :thumb:Exactly! I think everyone will be a heck of a lot less "ancy" in seven days time, when the Hip have the Conservatory and Sasquatch under their belts, and the summer concerts have official started. Also, I was just thinking... this weekend would be a PRIME weekend to have their "Surprise concerts", seriously. The Hip need to shed some rust before their big gigs, and its a long weekend. If I was in Toronto, I would look around at the Horseshoe and ask if they have anyone booked for the weekend.
