Looking on past Tragically Hip history of releasing new albums they seem to have new ones approx. every 2 years.Does anyone know if this is the year for a new album?Or were they to busy with the greatest hits album to record new material?

YES! That would be awesome to finally hear that song live. They'll also play No Threat and New Maybe...if they don't play the new album, these songs will definitely be the new songs they play

Triacc - The Hip were in the studio over the winter recording a new CD produced by Bob Rock. No release date has been announced but they're starting to book dates for concerts this summer.
Fiddler's Green won't be on the setlist.

It's already May freaking 18th. There are 17 tour dates already anounced and there has been no word on the release of the album. The hip have been doing various recording sessions in Vancouver and Toronto over the past few months.
We know they are recording and based on the past 3 album releases; all of which were in June followed by touring Europe, US and then Canada; we the fans know nothing about the album release.
I'm just getting very anxious and frustrated. Where's the comunication. Maybe the hip should take some tips from Pearl Jam!
I'm willing to bet we won't see an album until Labour Day... so let's enjoy the concerts this summer, and keep our eyes and ears ready for some new tunes.

I tend to agree on that Chris. A June release seems like it wont happen.
Especially when you consider they need to announce a release date and get a single out there for some airplay before the album is dropped.
