I think the Fort York shows should tide me over for awhile, or make me even more nuts, have to wait and see..

As for Rock, it shouldnt even be a concern for any Hip fan, I think people are more upset or dislike the bands and not Rock himself, he's just a scapegoat. I think what LP said about Metallica is spot on as well. Plus I think OLP's latest album is fantastic, dare I say their best yet? And if BR was instrumental in making it that way, Im glad he's on board for this new album. Ive already said it before, I guarantee it will kick ass. Have faith little ones..

Ever heard of Metallica?

Or the Tea Party?

Bob Rock - the career killer, hopefully he hasn't damaged the hip, I'm sure they wouldn't let him ruin their career as well

couldn't disagree more...metallica has done great stuff with Bob, and as previously mentioned...metallica is worse for metallica that mr. rock is..
and didn't rock only produce a couple of tea party tunes?
Bob Rock only produced 3 songs on the Tea Party's Seven Circles album, thats all.

Overload
The Watcher
Coming Back Again

3 good tunes actually, so mentioning him with TTP is almost pointless, Jeff Martin's produced almost all their albums and some of Seven Circles, so blame him if you dont like it.
DR. Feelgood rocks as well :thumb:
i have tried to avoid this discussion, but no longer can.....Bob Rock has done some great things as a producer, and has also worked on some less than thrilling albums as well. Sure he is a "famous" producer who tries to make the bands he works with sound like a rock band, no pun intended. What's wrong with that? Nothing at all. Sure, i thought the last tea party album sucked, but that certainly had nothing to do with Mr. Rock. The new OLP sounds great, yet it still sounds like OLP. The keys for me are the following: Bob isn't writing the album, the Hip are....and so the album will sound like the hip, not like Metallica or Motley Crue. It may be a bit more polished, but who cares??? The hip are a live band anyways, so if the album isn't up to our standards, throw on a recent bootleg.....

And it's all my fault.

That's the last time I make a joke around here....
I can't let you take the blame alone, Skippy. I mentioned Bob Rock to see if anyone would take the bait. I should've known better. Mea culpa.
have the Hip usually had an album out for their summer tours? It'd be cool if they released it before Charlottetown...but with only a month to go...I doubt it.

That's probably the best thing I've seen come out of this thread.
