Thanks Trevor, I remember I was watching that game vs. Newcastle when he scored that amazing goal, I couldnt believe my eyes. He's a wonderkid thats for sure, I think I'll have to go back to England and see this kid play, last time I saw United Beckham was still there, I need to go back, it's quite a thrill.

Yeah watching those amazing athletes is quite a thrill. I was fortunate enough to go to a World Cup game in '02 while I was in Japan. Sat 7 rows from the pitch and let me tell you, it is a different game then on T.V. that's for sure. Quite the specticle, that's for sure!

But, to reel this thread back in....anyone want to speculate on what player is the first to go?

I'm not anti-Leafs. They are my 2nd team. But as Sloan said...."it's not the band (team) I hate, it's the fans". For a team that has sucked, been ok, sucked again, The fans are insane. To be so pompus and haven't won anything in. oh 38 years..... ugh. But I wouldn't want to be at any other game than a Sabres/Leaf game at HSBC. It's 50/50 for fans and the atmosphere rules.

Seriously, I don't understand why people dislike Leaf fans for, well, being Leaf fans. Isn't the whole point of being a 'fan' that you cheer for your team through the good and the bad? And, as a Leaf fan who was born in the early 70s, there's been a lot more bad than good so my options have been rather limited. :lol:

I hear ya - I've been lucky enough to witness the Jays win two World Series, and witness the Cowboys win 3 of their 5 Super Bowls.....but the team that I want to see win the most continues to break my heart.

Ah well, at least the playoffs start tonight, and even with the Leafs out, the 1st round is my favourite time of the year. :thumb:

I agree -- I had mixed feelings about the end of the Quinn-era. This season wasn't his fault. It was injuries, the whole team falling asleep in January, and the acid-trip weekend in Montreal that kept them out of the playoffs.

But, he's gone, so let's get someone new and just pray to God that whatever Mats was eating in the last dozen games still agrees with him in October.

In the meantime ... go ... er ... Bolts?? Preds??

Oh I love my Leafs, and oh how it hurts to watch the play-offs (I still do though). It seems as though Leafs will have about 20 million bucks to spend this summer, maybe pick up Jovonovski? But for the love god don't spend it all, we don't not want to turn into what the Rangers we're the last few seasons. Yikes, even the Rangers are in the playoffs.
