Sasquatch Festival MSN Webcast
#16

I don't have the Inet capacity either to capture the video, but I can try and get the audio from it, if noone else is going to do the video.

How much does it cost?

I've been asking myself the same question for the last month - MSN left their Sasquatch page blank the entire time. I just noticed a small banner posted there yesterday, so it looks like it's still a go.

I've been looking at websites of some other bands on the bill to pick up some clues but haven't had much luck yet. I'll send MSN an email & hopefully they respond sooner than later.

If any American Hipbasers want to cap the Hip's set, I'm sure more than a few people here would pitch in to cover whatever cost they're charging (which I can't see as being too expensive).

I'll also set the capper up with whichever capture program can grab the stream - send a PM or post here if anyone's considering it.

The MSN video page seems to be pretty lame.

Is anyone going to actually tape it?

This is what should happen:
Somebody who is capable of recording it buckles down and pays for it. Do B&P's for everyone who wants it afterwards, and then charge them an extra dollar or something to cover the costs. There are probably more logical ways to actually do this, but I just can't think of any right now.

The Sasquatch page is coming along a bit.
It works much better in IE but I use Firefox.
I still can't find any purchasing info though.

Here's some screen shots:

Don't you have to subscribe to watch it anyway? Also, their DRM is anti-Linux, so I can't do it.

Yeah man, that's the sticking point here - someone stepping up and taking this on, if only for the tapers out there that to the same on a regular basis. I'm in Canada and subscribing was no problem for me but purchasing is off limits.

I emailed info@sasquatchfestival.com and got the following reply via a rep from hobconcerts.com :

dont have any info - gotta check the msn page. not even sure when it starts online.

Unfortunate for us but I won't give up on this - hopefully more folks will help out.

For the last few days, the front page has had a sign up for alerts and lists something being streamed on June 1st, which didn't make sense at first.

Today a third tab titled 'About' was added at the top of the page with the others ('Home' & 'Guide').

This is posted under the 'About' tab:

"MSN Entertainment is presenting a Webcast of Sasquatch highlights, including performances by Beck, Bauhaus, Queens of the Stone Age, Band of Horses, TV on the Radio, Nada Surf and many others on Thursday, June 1. Come back to see the best of the weekend's performances! In the meantime, check out MSN Music's exclusive Sasquatch guide, with entertaining information about every act scheduled to play throughout the entire weekend. We also have featured videos by Sasquatch artists and other surprises. Enjoy."

From this I can only guess that nothing is being streamed live - instead clips will be put together for June 1st. The Hip are barely mentioned in Saturday previews and not even featured on Saturday's playlist, so I think the best we might get is a song or two during the highlight show.

So, I suppose this is as much of the concert that we will see. "The Lonely End of the Rink" is apparently being shown on the site. Click on one of the other artists music videos for the direct playing of the Hip's new song. I hope that Mav and the soundboard got the OK to record this amazing show. Hopefully Mav. will be able to upload the tracks to thehip.com once the new album drops!

Thanks a bunch man! That's great to see video of a new song! :thumb: Also, there's a good clip of "The Dropoff" on the Day 2 highlights.
